Carreira/Ponomarenko Need a Cheer Thread

I'm getting a message at the bottom of my Peacock screen -- never saw anything like that before -- saying "Rhythm Dance is no longer available." Maybe it's a glitch.

I'm being a high key grump today bc my first thought was defs "and people will still say they were 'rough' or didn't skate their best."

Nationals is not good for my sleep. :lol:

Maybe all the music rights issue thingy. I watched practice video last night and much of the RD music was replaced with random generic music. Took me a second to realise and was wondering why they changed their music :lol:

Oh, I hadn't actually clicked into the tile, just saw that it was still up.
 
Okay, during the few minutes we have before the Pairs start back up, I'm checking my Peacock and the RD/Men's SP tile is playing fine for me - no muted or generic music over CarPon's RD.
 
FYI, Madison Hubbell is on today's Runthrough episode talking about Christina and Anthony, including the citizenship saga and various choices and changes for their dances this season and costume changes.

Also, Peacock has been absolutely awful for me during Nationals. Awful.

That would have been sooooo interesting! If not Hades/Persephone then maybe Orfeo & Eurydice could be good - I absolutely love "Dance of the Blessed Spirits".

I wonder if they got spooked with it being an Olympic year and the added weight of the citizenship problems...either way I'd love to see what they were cooking up

Christina didn't like the program. And then she and Anthony were asked whether they liked it at Champs Camp, so . . . Madison didn't rule out using the music in the future. But, I think they would have to make it darker in order for Christina to like it. It's really interesting listening to Madison talk about choosing music and creating dances and the importance of having a theme. Well worth listening to the interview.

Madison said that the tweaks for the Perfume FD are mainly to the lifts because their lifts have improved over the last couple of years.

Yes. Christina wanted something darker though. And I guess nndp was also too healthy for her. She was held back by Igor's ice princess roles for too long and says never again, it's kill or be killed.

It is absolutely hilarious to me that off-ice she seems very sweet and in practices I've seen they laugh a lot together, but for programs she wants it dark and dramatic or nothing hahahaha.

I'm pretty sure you can find the podcast most places where one listens to podcasts. Spotify, Apple, Audible, Amazon Music, RSS. (They haven't posted this episode on youtube, perhaps because they did it live in St. Louis.) It's episode 110 of The Runthrough. If you haven't listened to their podcast before, there are some inside jokes you will miss, but not with Madison's portion of the show.

Honestly I'm glad that they didn't completely mess up. But they were very tense and didn't have as much attack as they did in practice. Loved it of course, but it was obvious that they were nervous.
 
Drill, baby, drill those twizzles! I'm so happy they did it and made their Olympic dream come true!
 
Putting on my conspiracy hat and believing that USFS lowkey sabotaged them by 1.) having them switch out their original fd (which had a very interesting premise!!) and 2.) hosing them at both grand prixs to the point where they were the only top U.S. team to not medal at a gp event. I think their disaster of their fall season really impacted their confidence in a way they haven't been able to recover from yet
