It's nice to see. They may have taken silver at U.S. Nationals with the sp skate they put out at 4CCs. I think coming back so strong at U.S. Nationals in their fp to pull themselves up to 4th and a pewter medal gave them a burst of confidence heading into 4CCs. As Ashley said coming off the ice in Taipei, they've been waiting all year to put out that kind of performance. The throw jump was high and well landed too. Their hard work is paying off. It's interesting to see the arc of athletes' journeys, the ebb and flow. What we see on the ice does not tell us all that they do and what they experience on and off the ice between competitions that helps them turn a corner. Plus, we don't always understand how physical issues impact performance because athletes tend not to complain but to swallow their pain and go out with a positive attitude.
Good luck to C/L in the fp tomorrow! Their programs have improved steadily over the course of the season.
