Seems unlikely. In an ideal world we would look at the treatment of the Uyguhr people and China would be cutoff until the situation changed, but we've allowed China to become too big & powerful now & the political will do that much harm to our economies is not there, particularly coming out of COVID.Maybe I was thinking more of boycotting due to political positions of late?
That was a given - Beijing 2008 isn't known as the 'No Party Olympics' for nothing. And it’s not going to be the most fun Olympic for the athletes:

Well, they did send Xi'An into lockdown. And Tianjin has omicron cases now too. So they must be concerned for sure. This is the first time I've heard China casting any doubt on the Olympics going ahead as scheduled

Huang Chun, spokesman for the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, said the spread of the omicron in a worst-case scenario could affect the Games' schedule.
368k new cases in France today, we indeed are swimming in it!I nominate Japan for the figure skating venue for the Olympics: Limit the crowds, entomb the skaters until their event(s) are over. The USA and Canada can cover hockey at various venues....how about France and/or Italy for downhill events and Norway for cross country? The Netherlands and South Korea can take speed skating. Germany can take bobsleigh and luge, Russian the biathlon and nordic combined, Finland ski jumping. Who takes curling, freestyle and snowboarding?? Make the Olympics global. I understand why China doesn't want Omicron. But we are collectively swimming in it so why not have the Games anyway?
