Ok, this is getting better and better every GP-competition and I now feel I need a clear overview of this. This season the Asian skaters has gotten all sorts of lovely (plush) fruit and veggies thrown to them on the ice. And the deal is they all have different pet names or something that links them to these?

Cong Han - spring onion - he's name is somewhat similar to "spring onion" in Chinese?
Shoma Uno - cabbage - his pet name is petit chou, small cabbage in French?
Satoko Miyahra - pineapple - she set a record for different stuffed pineapples at one competition at SA yesterday. So, what's the deal?

Are there more? What can I expect further on? And do the skaters know how to defend themselves against fresh fruit? (and pointed sticks.....)

Yeah, that's what I want to see,  cabbage, FRESH cabbage, hurling through the air at a competition... :EVILLE: Now that's entertainment. :2faced:

Shoma gets vegetables because he doesn't like to eat them.

Satton's favourite food is pineapple.

Cong means spring onion in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Bonus: Marin loves pikachu; Zhenya Sailor Moon; Alina Korilakkuma. And we all know why Yuzu gets a sea of Poohs and Boyang Spidey.

I thought this was a really strange thread title, and then I read the posts here and the actions of the fans providing fresh produce to skaters is the weirdest thing in the world.

I love the spring onion connection with Cong--it answers a persistent question from Cup of China. I also love that he has such adorably fannish fans, because he so deserves them.

I don't think Adam Rippon would react very well to fresh vegetables on the ice. :shuffle:
Which reminds me. Did IN really mean to say he was picking up INSECTS off the ice? WTH??

I guess if anybody did throw down fresh veggies, that could certainly be related to the insects. :/

Satoko's plush pineapple that someone gave to her after the SP was almost as big as she is!! Very cute! :)

Dead flies, actually. The referee asked him to pick them up before he skated. Didn't phase him a bit!
