I just called the rink to see if they had more information than what was on the website. He was helpful: there is a FAQ page that they plan to post on Friday which includes information about the camera policy (no professional cameras) and what can’t be brought into the arena (the usual types of things, but it does still say that bags can only be 12x12). He did say the arena is cold. No information about additional performers. Plenty of $ parking in the area. I don’t trust that my camera would get in so I will likely skip it unless anyone things I could get it in.

I hope this helps someone.

Thank you for the information! I wish I were back home in Philly to see this (I'm currently in the Florida Panhandle).

As a part time security officer we've often been told different things from event to event. Certain bags aren't allowed, bags are allowed, certain sizes aren't ok, umbrellas aren't allowed, umbrellas are allowed, etc. It depends on each client and the event. Same with cameras. Some venues/artists don't care, others do. Unless one needs a large bag for medical needs, baby items, etc I would avoid trying to bring anything much larger than a clutch purse. If the policy is unclear as to cameras with or without professional looking photo lenses, I would probably avoid bringing that in to. Unless one doesn't mind being sent back to one's car to leave it there. The trek back to some parking lots or garages can be quite a distance at times. We've had to tell guests that they can't bring in cameras with such lenses more times than I care to think. As you did, it's best to call ahead or check the website in order to find out what the exact policy is for certain items.

When I go to ice shows I always assume that the venue is cold and dress accordingly in layers that I can remove if it's too warm after all!
