Montreal contemporary skating group Le Patin Libre is coming to Philadelphia on December 13 and 14, 2024, as part of Penn Live Arts 2024-2025 season.
There will be 2 performances; ticket information is below. Note that this is being held at UPenn's Class of 1923 ice rink—not the Annenberg performance center. For those outside the area, the rink is located 2.5 blocks south of the city's main rail station. So if you wanted to hop on Amtrak to catch this, it's incredibly doable.
I've heard through my
that there will be some additional programming around this event for audience members and skaters, though I have no idea what it will be. If I hear of anything, I'll pass it along here.
I know this been in the works for a long time and I'm personally stoked to have LPL make their Philly debut.
Hope to see some of you there!

Le Patin Libre is the world’s only contemporary ice-skating company. Hailing from seven different countries and coming to Philadelphia for the very first time, these former championship figure skaters use speed, precision and intricate moves to reinvent what’s possible on the ice. Inspired by the mysterious aerial ballet of bird flocks, Murmuration reimagines these complex scientific algorithms into mesmerizing choreography, taking an abstract journey of harmonious, exhilarating and sometimes dangerous togetherness. “There is magic in Le Patin Libre’s shows” and this high-flying new work “will blow your mind.” (The Guardian)
