2027 Europeans in Lausanne planning thread

Copying this over from the provisional allotments thread.

I'm really interested in going to Lausanne for Europeans in 2027, during my year off from work. I found the website https://www.euroskating2027.ch/ and it says tickets will go on sale spring 2026. With the exception of a couple of times I went to Skate Detroit I've never been to a skating competition outside of Canada before. Any tips on tickets or accommodations or general planning? I'm very excited about the possibility.

There are people who know much more than me but I can tell you a few things from recent experience. Flying into and out of Geneva airport is a pleasure and there are trains directly from the airport to the center of Lausanne. Logistically, it’s easy. The city is on one of the most beautiful lakes anywhere. And Switzerland is expensive, especially given the sunk dollar vs the Swiss franc (Switzerland is not on the Euro.)

Others know much more about the competition and can probably make hotel recommendations, etc.
