2026 Worlds in Prague - info & planning thread

I managed to get a free dance ticket until now. The code worked.

My problem is I'm at work and put my husband in charge for the other tickets. God knows what seats he is going to pick even though I told him explicitly what's important and what's not.

Wheeeeeeee I'll be going to worlds after being a fan of the sport for 30 years!!!!!!

Can't believe I just bought tickets in the middle of the night. They were going fast. It will be interesting to see which ones were blocked off for the public sale. But I got close to where I wanted - we're in 120. A little more in the corner than I prefer but should be a good view of the kiss and cry and on the aisle! Now back to bed.

For some reason it worked for the free dance and women's, but not for men's or the rhythm dance. Oh well, I'll try again on Thursday.

I'm still trying to pay. And I checked and there are a lot more (and better) seats available if you were purchasing individual sessions.

The code worked for me.

And thank goodness I have a few different credit cards. The first two cards I tried (Visa and Amex) weren't accepted by the payment system (error message was "the merchant does not accept this type of credit card"). But finally it accepted my ancient old plain Mastercard that I hardly ever use.

And yes, it's frustrating that the payment system is only in Czech. Google translate to the rescue! :)

Note for anyone going through this in a few days: When I tried the first time with my actual card info in the fields, it didn’t work. But when I clicked Apple Pay (with the same exact Mastercard as I had just tried), it went through fine.

Tried three different cards and none of them would work. I'll have to try again on Thursday.
Apple Pay, save yourself the headache if you have it. It’s just one click rather than filling out all kinds of CC info in another language only to get a screen saying declined also in Czech.

Here is the relevant part of the email my friend received:

it is not possible to purchase the VIP experience as an add-on to an All Event Ticket. The VIP package is only available as a separate ticket option, not in combination with an All Event Ticket. You would need to choose between the All Event Ticket or the VIP package. Please also note that sections 113 and 114 are exclusively reserved for VIP seats.
As it turned out, the info your friend received is correct, for the presale anyway.

I'll have to set it up and try it on Thursday. The what really peeves me is that are are no all-event tickets left in the lower bowl but if you check on individual sessions there are plenty there. I was even going to try to purchase each session individually for four people but you are only allowed to purchase eight tickets so after ticketing for the first two sessions, I was maxed out. I would have had to buy those then start over for the next two sessions, etc.

I think that there will be some all event in the lower bowl held back for Thursday - fingers crossed for you!

It was definitely confusing. I went back to try to buy the Gala tickets after I went through checkout and my code didn’t work the second time, which was frustrating, but I didn’t want to risk losing tickets out of my cart again (and I don’t care as much where we sit for the Gala). I guess they limit you to one transaction with the code even if you don't buy the max tickets, which makes sense in hindsight.

Also, editing to add - in the light of day I'm realizing the difference in the VIP golden ticket thing. Like I was thinking, at $200 USD to add to the entire event, per person, it was a totally reasonable cost because we'd probably spend $20/person on stadium food each per meal and this was just a little more at $50/day or $25/event per person basically. But the way they're doing it per event is an extra $200 per event for the food. That is definitely out of my budget! I'm just laughing at myself because that is a massive price difference and it didn't even occur to me, I was just thinking how nice it was that the ticket with the buffet food was reasonable and also in hindsight that was silly.

Anyway, super excited to be going to Prague!! It's been on my to-visit list for two decades and I'm psyched to spend a week there and getting to see the skating is a fantastic bonus. It was a cool way to see Montreal, with a few days of touristy stuff, capped off with the event. :)

You're not alone. I thought exactly the same exact thing

After about a two hour battle, my invalid code magically began to work 🤷‍♀️ And I came away with most of what I wanted. For whatever reason, it wasn't accepted when I tried for the Golden Lounge for the womens long program, but my seat is good enough and I can spend that money elsewhere.
I'll be coming from the US to watch, and will be super excited for the trip as I already love Prague.
Best of luck to all entering the fray on Thursday!

Just to be clear, the code that you got in the email becomes the first bullet point to enter in the choices for the Golden Lounge as opposed to the second choice in some of the other options. I just checked right now and there are still 37 tickets available within those two sections.

Anyways, this whole buy individual seats at the same time as all-event seats mess is going to leave almost nothing for people who want consistent seats in all-event packages on Thursday.

All of 103, 104, 110, 111, 115, 116, 118, 119, 120, and 121 are listing 0 tickets available for some of the free skates, but those tickets still remain available for short programs so I would gather all of those sections need to be scratched off all-event ticket options.

105-109, 112, and 117 seem to have not been opened at all yet, and I don't have confidence that 101, 102, and 122 will open to spectators.

ETA- I clicked right at 10AM and I was something like 2900 in line.

I can't imagine what the thinking was behind that decision. In over 20 years of purchasing all-event tickets for Worlds, Nationals and GPs, I've never heard of all-event and single session tickets going on sale at the same time.

Also don't understand the whole "VIP golden lounge" sale. Perhaps the Czech LOC saw how popular the Boitano Lounge was in Boston and decided to capitalize on that by forcing ticket buyers to purchase both a single session ticket and a VIP ticket to have access to the better sections of the arena and to not have to wait to purchase until after the all-event tickets went on sale. I guess they didn't know (or care) the BL was a separate ticket and not related to event ticket sales at all.

My friends and I did end up with all-event tickets in section 110. I'm so glad I don't have to go through the Ticketportal cluster again on Thursday morning as I wasn't optimistic there would be a decent number of all-event tickets available in the lower bowl.

I totally dropped the ball on the presale, we'll see where I end up on Thursday. I'll try getting single tickets for the first time ever, since I always skip the gala and this time I think I'll prioritise seeing Prague over the pairs and women's sp, so it'll save me a little €€

Just another note for those trying on Thursday morning - it is made clear on the Worlds website that the all-event tickets will still exclusively be on the (messy) Ticketportal website. If you want single-session tickets, you can go to Ticketmaster. It looks like pre-sale tickets are now shut down to the newsletter code holders.

On top of the feeling of almost every section being sold out of all-event tickets [because of the free skate/dance tickets being completely taken in the lower bowl], expect to have a really difficult time navigating the site as it switches from English back to Czech somewhere in the checkout process. And you can only buy 6 single-session tickets at a time, so one would not even be able to buy all the events individually. :wall:

Tony fared much better than I did. My code didn't want to take, then kept switching me to Czech, and then when I set it back to English the ability to buy tickets went away. SIGH. Then when there were tickets to get they disappeared in seconds. Turns out Tony got them. We were working together to get tickets together, and ended up competing for the last good pair of seats.

I think they really nerfed the availability in the presale. Was anything in the mid sections or "Golden" sections even available?

The last I looked it seemed to me the p1 level seats in sections 113 and 114 had been held back. They were there but greyed out. But after the rush to purchase single session long/free program tickets, I can’t see how there will be many all event tickets available in the lower bowl on Thursday.
