Prague Daily News article (Nov. 19, 2024), published one day after the initial press conference:
This prestigious competition will return to the Czech Republic after 33 years, bringing the world’s top male and female figure skaters to Prague’s O2 Arena. Athletes will compete for championship titles in the Czech capital from 24 to 29 March 2026.
In Czechoslovakia’s history, the ISU World Championships were held twice: in 1962 in Prague and in 1973 in Bratislava. As an independent country, the Czech Republic will host the ISU World Figure Skating Championships for the second time (after 1993 in Prague), having been awarded the event by the International Skating Union (ISU) in December 2022. The Czech Republic will take the hosting baton from the USA, which will host the 2025 edition in Boston.
“Being awarded the event was a delightful surprise for me. While I knew we had hosted many excellent events, including the outstanding 2017 ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Ostrava, I am convinced that hosting this major figure skating event – the second most important competition after the Olympic Games – is significant not only for Czech figure skating but for the entire country,” says Stanislav Židek, President of the Czech Figure Skating Association, at a press conference on Monday in Prague.
The event will take place under one roof. The organisers will use the O2 Arena as the competition venue, while the O2 Universum will serve as a practice area, significantly enhancing the comfort of all competitors. [...]
Ticket sales are tentatively scheduled to begin in late winter or early spring 2025, with organisers aiming to fill the O2 Arena to capacity for all competition and practice days. In addition to the sports programme, organisers are planning a variety of accompanying events to enhance fans’ experiences.

My friends and I are thinking about going. Hopefully there will be an information booth at Boston Worlds. Are there any hotels within walking distance of the O2 arena?

Prague 2026 is not in the budget sadly, but there are some AMAZING Vrbo deals for that week if anyone is looking for lodging different from a hotel by the arena.

I will definitely be going. I live in Berlin, Prague is literally next door considering, and I have never watched a world championships live despite being a fan for 25 years. I can't wait. I will probably be there for Friday and Saturday. It bugs me that the programme isn't there yet but I would imagine all the long programmes will happen then. If anybody is is sure to go, send me a message. I haven't met an FSUer in person for many years now.

Did anyone happen to get a business card from one of the people at the Prague booth in Boston? My friend got a card but has somehow misplaced it and he plans on attending the event next year.

I was there, I didn't get a card, but I did scan the QR code they provided and it took me to their website where I could add myself to their mailing list. To sign up go to https://www.prague2026.org/en/newsletter/

Oh my gosh, 2am my time. I guess I’m either braving it or rationalizing that it’s better to just wait until the initial furor has died down anyway?

I have no idea how much these are supposed to cost because I've never been to a worlds before! But I will probably be getting separate tickets as it would cost the same as an all-event ticket (I can only do 3 nights so I'd miss the women's and pair's short).

Tickets are reasonable. If I go, I have a feeling I’ll be going by myself. Would love to sit with some of you guys here from FSU. Can you DM me if you’re going to get your tickets?

I signed up for the pre-sale, and will register an account in advance - but I don't know if I want to be up at 1am to buy. I haven't been to a worlds in a long time. Other than the airfare, it will be quite a bit cheaper than going to worlds in NA - and Prague's a great city.

Has anyone been able to find a more detailed seating chart than the one on the Prague 2026 website? I’m trying to figure out how many rows may be in each section (pink, purple) to compare them to the photos on a view from my seat). I’m just worried about trusting my brain if I actually try to buy tickets in the middle of the night, lol.

Any thoughts about whether we’ll be able to see the kiss and cry from sections 113 and 114? I generally prefer the judges side, with a good view of the kiss and cry (well, my daughter does), but I’m thinking that 121 will be in high demand. And I’m curious about the golden ticket food thing. It’s a bit pricey. But on the other hand, I travel with my daughter and always end up spending way more than I would like at concession stands at these things. So it seems like it would be kind of a big stress relief to just be able to have food pre-paid and let her eat what she wants. Just wish there was more details about what it entails and wish that the kiss and cry was in the center 117/118 because watching the kiss and cry is a big source of entertainment at a live comp!

I think it’s all subjective really. For local salaries I believe these tickets aren’t affordable at all - which is pretty disappointing. Lucky enough to be in a position to make these prices work but really not the case for people from the city itself.
This is correct. I was just looking at it from the Boston prices which were like double retail and 10 times at resale.

My friend corresponded with Prague’s ticketing person and it’s my understanding tickets in sections 113 and 114 are only available for those who are purchasing VIP tickets. And you must purchase a VIP ticket separately for each session, you can’t add it on to an all-event ticket.

I don’t understand why they are selling both all-event tickets and single session tickets at the same time. I guess I’ll find out on Monday.

Oh that’s interesting about the VIP add on, I assumed you could add it to the all event so I’m glad to know that’s not an option. I also dont understand how they’re selling all event and single session tix at the same time. Will certain seats be available only for all session? I’m going to go back and read the FAQ with that in mind I guess.

Probably not going to worlds, but I was just in Prague. One nice thing is that if you are 65 or over, the public transit is free!
Probably by the time am 65 it will become "80+'. Story of my life - the orchestras coming up with 'tickets for youth till 26' when am 27, updating it to 39 when am 40 etc...

The website says something else:

VIP Tickets

Looking for something extra? Treat yourself to the GOLDEN LOUNGE package – a premium experience featuring luxury seating, delicious food, and ultimate comfort.

For an additional CZK 4,490 on top of the 2nd category ticket price, you’ll enjoy:

  • Premium seating in sectors 113 and 114
  • Unlimited catering (including sweet desserts)
  • Separate VIP entrance via O2 universum (Českomoravská Street)
Looking at images of the arena, this seems to be the Club seats. We’ll find out soon enough.

If the all-event and individual tickets are coming from the same inventory for the presale, that could block all-events if just one individual session is purchased.

Did someone say desserts?

Here is the relevant part of the email my friend received:

it is not possible to purchase the VIP experience as an add-on to an All Event Ticket. The VIP package is only available as a separate ticket option, not in combination with an All Event Ticket. You would need to choose between the All Event Ticket or the VIP package. Please also note that sections 113 and 114 are exclusively reserved for VIP seats.
