2026 Skate America in Everett, WA; Salt Lake City for 2027 U.S. Nationals - info/planning thread

Just saw that there are $300 all event tix on the top of lower bowl end sections. I’m very good at sneaking into available seats so wonder if this is an option I should consider. Has anyone had these types of tix before?

I always buy “get in the door” seats and have never had a problem upgrading with the exception of the men’s and women’s free at Boston Worlds.

We switched with France again? After their Oly dance judge scored C/B 8 points lower than FB/C and who knows what other shenanigans?

I guess it could be worse....they could have moved it to Lake Placid....but grrr.

And I imagine plenty of people have already made flight and hotel reservations, asked for the Oct dates off work, etc.

Can we please remove Grand Prix of France for a while being that aside from this new dance team, and a rando performance from Adam there is no reason to stop there at the moment.

Heck let’s double up on Japan Grand Prix or skate America Grand Prix..

Maybe to Korea, I would’ve said Italy for the last four years. But France? Bye Felicia.

wasn't france originally the 4th stop though? Why does this say skam is the 5th now?? (this is not directly a question to you, you just reminded me of this lol)

France has four very good dance teams and two internationally admired men. I don’t know why they haven’t grown a woman singles star but we in the U.S. have had our troughs in talent.

Since they've changed the date for Skate America, that obviously will change the date for other GPs. Considering what they have said, it may be more than the U.S. and France that have changed. I would hope that USFS had a good reason to agree to this. I was really hoping that the earlier date would increase the chances of Ilia being there.

But, maybe Alysa and Ilia would like later starts to their season since they will have busy off seasons?

For those of you who don't do X ,here is an Instagram post about the date change:

Modified my reserved hotel dates and the rate went up around $100/night. 😡
Mine went up $150 a night. I wasn’t sure about going but just canceled. We already have a trip planned first week of December so the changed date, increased price and logistics aren’t worth it.

Delta hotel was about 300 less than Marriott, but that was the nonrefundable options. For refundable they were about the same. Marriott slightly lower. Thankfully, I was using points that I otherwise would be unlikely to use. I’m also lucky to only be a few hours away and will drive.

Courtyard and Delta both very expensive for it so I am gonna be slumming it at the Best Western. My flight gets in late now at 10pm then I'm renting a car and driving, sigh, but I'll have a car if anyone needs rides anywhere

Wow - I guess I should know better but I'm shocked that they moved the dates. Enough time has passed since the announcement that people would have already booked flights, reserved hotels, made plans for site seeing, coordinated with family / jobs, etc.

Also, this makes it much harder to do a combined trip to Skate America and Skate Canada. I had actually thought how smart they were to put those events so close together geographically on back-to-back weekends. Now I am back to thinking USFS hates its fans.

This a very strange decision - especially since the FFSG was the FIRST fed to announce their GP location & date.

We can't be certain that the FFSG and USFS have merely swapped dates like they did last season. At this point, apart from SCI, every other GP has got to be up in the air with regards to the schedule.

I was considering going to Skate Canada after Skate America too, I don't know, but Mr Lanie may be going on a trip with some friends around that time.

I wonder what is going on because I can't see USFS doing this without real reason.

It seems to me, USFS is not interested in increasing fan base, if they change dates. As posted above - many have made flight, hotel, and work accommodations already.

For Skate America:
All-session tickets will go on sale Thursday, April 23 at 10 a.m. PT.
All-session tickets include entry to all competition sessions as well as all official practices beginning Nov. 12.

(I think it is worth copying the Apr 23 date and time into the thread, although they also are in the FSO and GS social media posts.)

New dates for Skate America (Nov 12-15) overlap with Midwestern Sectionals+Dance Final dates (Nov 9-15) -- in case it matters to anyone.

Yes there are plenty and French team, fans, media want to keep their GP. + Angers is a very beautiful city (although difficult to reach by public transportation) unlike Boeing-Boring-Everett and France is still the most visited country in the world. Why do you even care? Do you ever attend any GPs?

Heck let’s double up on Japan Grand Prix or skate America Grand Prix.
Sure. Why not ALL the GPs in great again America especially these days with your wonderful sense of warm welcome? A beautiful dream on ICE...

Nobody is asking you to come. Yes we French are also extremely welcoming and friendly :2faced: Bye Felicia indeed. And that from someone who lives way closer to Italy than Angers which is a 8/9 hours drive versus 1 or 2

Ugh same in the reverse. This likely means I won't go to Skate America :(. There is too long of a gap between Skate America and Skate Canada now and I don't want to trek back and forth from Ontario x2 especially with airfare prices thanks to fuel costs. It would be too much time away even with a week visit in Calgary with my best friend in between.
