I can't imagine Canada thinks that at all. Based on what PerMich said earlier this week, I believe Skate Canada's plan was always to split pairs & ice dance. Whatever talk they put out there about contending for bronze, I think they knew the chances of that happening were low with both Italy & Georgia in the mix.

I guess that decision was made before realising how close Canada would be to Italy. It does seem the wrong decision now, P/G might have got 2nd in the FS. I wonder if they might regret it

Tomorrow is going to be next level. The battle for medals is the best ever. Glad we get pairs out of the way first. My nerves can’t handle Riku’s shoulder, Conti’s knee, and Ellie’s throws. I do think M/B might win. She’s just so badass. And speaking of nerves, I fear for her in lifts.

Fingers crossed, the decision of the Canadian team to have LaLas for the FD will give Italy an additional point over Georgia....

As much as I am a cheerleader for the small federations, Georgia is just Russia no.2, and I really want Italy to get a home medal they clearly planning to take away in pairs and ice dance. Of course Italy should have gotten the bronze 8 years ago, but it's good too.
