2026 Olys Team Event PBP Day 2 - Will It Be YAYmoz? Or GO!GO!lev?

Ya know, folks, it's been 15 years...
I was just thinking back in 2011 when the news was announced that Evan Bates was leaving Emily for Madison, and the reactions right after. I think a lot of people were hoping karma was going to catch up to him. Fifteen years later, and look at them now: OGMs, 3-time world champions, potentially getting two more OGMs, and married.

I think C/B have a very sweet story. I just haven't been this meh about a potential OGM since Navka.

I might feel differently if they were skating the alien and the astronaut FD. It's the only dance they've had that I really loved. This year's FD just feels super gimmicky with that stupid skirt.

I still think Snake Charmer is their best program ever and wish they would have brought back an upgraded version this season. That program never got the final potential it could have with Worlds being canceled. :wuzrobbed
I agree about Snake Charmer being their best program ever, but I think this Matador & Bull one is their second best. I never really got into the Astronaut & Alien one & hated their Time program.

I liked C/B’s snake charmer program, but it had run its course by the end. They couldn’t even get on the podium with it at the 2021 worlds, where P/C weren’t even competing. They made the right choice not to bring it back. My favorite from them was their 2022 Olympics Alien FD.

Emily Samuelson was a better skater back then than Chock is now. That opinion has nothing to do with not getting over the breakup. That partnership may or may not have reached the top, but if it had been the same roller coaster that C/B’s had in their first half, I’m not sure Bates would have had the motivation to keep going to reach the success they’ve had, especially as they were passed by skaters below them, not just trying to break the gridlock ahead of them. IMO, Ilinykh was a better skater as a junior than Sinitsina was as an Olympic silver medalist, even after working hard and improving a huge amount, yet it was not a partnership that worked. Clearly, the C/B partnership has worked.

You know, I hate to give anything to NBC, but it does feel to me that they are getting that casual, every four year fans actually want to know what is happening. I noticed much more technical commentary from Johnny and Tara than in year's past. They even had graphics that clearly showed under rotation. Where the jump should have landed to be fully rotated vs. where it did land and the angle. They should absolutely keep that and use it constantly.

That being said, Johnny did keep saying you could do a quad axel as the solo axel, which is annoying.
