I do not think Ilia was sufficiently marked down (or penis’d in FSU speak) for his crappy 3a.

This morning during a tour I met three separate groups of American tourists that were going to today's figure skating event. They all had 0 idea of what they were going to see, so much so I had to explain it was the team event. I am sure they were amongst the fans chanting ahah.

Same here in Austria :-( We have Eurosport1 on TV free, but live Skating is mostly on the Eurosport/HBO stream (and not on TV), which is not free. So I just registered for HBO. I think you can cancel again after one month.

Stephen's skate cheered me up a lot after participating in an 1 & 3/4 hr Zoom meeting this morning that was frustrating not just because of a group of several participants joining via a single Ipad with low sound quality, especially with multiple interjections, but also because of the round and round conversations. Did I mention that the "chair" and Zoom host was driving around in her car and leaving it to the Secretary to try to keep things on track and take notes for the minutes?
Yuma's skate was the "icing on the cake" along with Canada's FS qualification to leave me smiling

If G/P realize they’re not likely to get an individual medal, they should do the FD for the team. Canada won’t beat Italy for the bronze given women and pairs but try your best anyway.

Possibly. But Italy is very likely to beat Canada in both pairs and women so a medal is a long shot.

I think that is actually the best thing that can have happened to Ilia. It takes some pressure off, it was not a disaster, only a few wobbles but will give him some room to breath and come back stronger for the real competition.

I like Yuma`s skating more so my heart goes to him but I think Ilia will win, now more than ever.

Yes, but Nathan REALLY blew both SPs. Fell on both quad attempts. Ilia was just tight today.

I know, at this point it has got to be C/B because there is no telling whether Z/K can beat team Georgia. We know they would be 3th or 4th which would not be enough to offset Japan with strong single and pairs

It's defs to late for them to suddenly appear for an event in 40 minutes. Canada would have had to have both teams there.

Entries are confirmed at 21:15, so the feds have literally just officially confirmed the FD entries.

That being said, it's been widely reported that ChoBat and LajLag are doing the FD today (the other three countries only have 1 dance entry).

Ilia himself has said he was glad he was passed over because it pushed him to improve both his artistic and technical side, and he doubt he would have been as motivated if he'd gotten the call.

Not that it matters, but ZingKol handily defeated DavSmo at Finlandia. I'm very confident that ZingKol would finish ahead of them in the TE FD if they were selected. And I'm pretty sure they'd beat LajLag, but it would be a closer battle.
