The countries who had the chance to earn a 2nd and 3rd spot were still fighting for one out of the 3 available. Those spots weren't being saved for them, so it doesn't change the number available at the Qualifier. If the UZB spot is returned, then it should go to the 4th place team.Four of the additional pairs spots to be contested in Beijing. ( AUS, GEO, UZB, HUN) do not have entries on the start orders
That adds 4 spots to the already 3 to be given out in Beijing, i believe.
The other spot from UZB will be returned at the deadline for declaration later in the year.

This is not correct....and the additional Georgia Man is also not on the start orders...taking the 5 Men's spots up to 6
Thanks for this RoseRed...you are absolutely correct. The countries who had the chance to earn a 2nd and 3rd spot were still fighting for one out of the 3 available. Does anyone know more about this split? It seems to crazy to split up when you have an Olympic spot assured. There MAY be 4 pairs spots available since UZB's Geynish/Chigirev split over the summer and neither have partners who are eligible to represent UZB yet.
From all I heard when I first posted, he wanted to be done with the sport and either initially retired or still is done. She found someone quickly, but I think they are still in the early indecisive stages. Either way, Zandron can't go to the Olympic anyways for UZB as noted above.Does anyone know more about this split? It seems to crazy to split up when you have an Olympic spot assured.
Do you think it's possible he could have been persuaded to seek a new partner or did it sound pretty definite that he's done? From all I heard when I first posted, he wanted to be done with the sport and either initially retired or still is done. I don't think we really know. Given the regime in North Korea is so closed off from the world we will probably never see them again. What happened to the former partners of Tae Ok Ryom?
This output have partly determined the panel of judges for Olympic Games.
Pairs
The following 12 countries are entitled to send of a judge:
USA, GER, ITA, CAN, JPN, GEO, HUN, AUS, UZB, GBR, POL, NED
There will be a draw for 1 judging slot among the ISU members getting the spots at OQE (if not already represented in the panel).
If needed, a further draw will be done among the ISU members with a pair at Boston World Championships without an Olympic spot (UKR, FIN, SUI, FRA, AUT).
Yes. Waiting to see what they play for an AIN winner.Do Petrosian and Safonova both get to go now?
I think it's the Olympic anthem? Assuming you mean the Olys....for the OQE, it's probably the ISU anthem, if they have one.Yes. Waiting to see what they play for an AIN winner.

Oh, so the drunk wallaby song?I think it's the Olympic anthem? Assuming you mean the Olys....for the OQE, it's probably the ISU anthem, if they have one.
The USFS made sure of that. With the conclusion of the Olympic Pairs qualifier we now know that no country will have maximum entries in the 2026 Olympics.
F. Reallocation of Unused Quota Places
Qualification places obtained and not used for the individual events (not the Team Event) by the NOCs, will be filled by stand-by NOCs based on the final result of the designated ISU Figure Skating Qualifying Competition (TBA) for those NOCs not qualified and not yet represented.
In the case that a Qualified NOC cannot send its Team to the OWG Milano 2026 for whatever reason, the ISU will invite the NOC whose Team is ranked next in the Figure Skating Team Event qualification list, if possible.
From the press release:Without pretending there could be different outcomes, Spanish Fed have already confirmed the selection for Olympic team:

So, Olivia & Tim knew after Worlds that their Olympic spot was confirmed. That must have been a huge relief. And, of course, Sofia & Asaf knew that if they secured the 2nd spot, it was theirs, which was a huge burden, but they delivered, so what a great result for them and Spain.Following the Boston World Championships, it was agreed with the athletes and their respective coaches that the first place earned in the dance competition would be awarded to the couple that had secured the spot for Spain, allocating the spots directly without applying the previously established selection criteria. However, it was decided to wait until the end of the qualifying period to announce this decision, which, we reiterate, was consensual and accepted by the athletes and coaching staff.
With this decision, FEDHielo seeks to facilitate technical and competitive planning that allows the selected athletes to face the pre-Olympic period with the focus and stability necessary to arrive at the Games in the best possible condition.
However, the federation has confirmed that the selection criteria will remain in place for the 2025-2026 season in the senior category, with regard to the squad configuration for the European Championship (January 2026) and the World Championship (March 2026).
In this way, the RFEDH confirms its full support for the selected skaters in this new phase leading up to Milano-Cortina, and focuses its efforts on providing the athletes with all the necessary resources on the road to the 2026 Winter Olympics.
I so despise rules like this.Pairs - NED (1 spot) - Danilova/Tsiba must earn a score of at least 173.89 between Sept 1st & Jan 1st in order to be named to the Dutch Olympic team.
So do I. Daria and Michel qualified directly, they were 15th in Boston. But, just like in Sweden, the Dutch NOC/Skating federation is so used to scoring well in Speed- and Short Track Skating, that they demand a high standard for the Figure skaters as well.I so despise rules like this.
Neither of them have competed senior - both were eligible to compete at the senior level last season. Krivoseja hasn't even earned the Jr Worlds CTES mins (80.00), so I can't imagine he'll earn the Olys/Euros CTES mins (86.00). Korkacs does have the Jr Worlds CTES mins with 84.59, so it's possible he could compete in a Sr B and earn the Olys/Euros CTES min, but it seems just as likely he could just miss getting it.Latvia has 2 junior men age eligible. So I wouldn't count on that 2nd spot not being utilized. That said, how else can Davide get that last spot, if it comes available?
