2026 Europeans - Free Dance - "Sheffield Whinesday"

Nothing will ever compare for me to Catherine Lyons's floor exercise to Kissing You, so that part I wasn't loving, but I thought it picked up at the end.

That's my favorite part! It makes the whole free dance kind of Tim Burton.
Ah. I can see that. I am not generally a fan of Tim Burton, so that explains it. It's just this kind of TA-DAH! moment that comes out of nowhere like they suddenly remember their 8th grade English class.

WILL THE REIGN OF TERROR FINALLY END?! CAN-CAN THE HOMETOWN HEROES FINALLY VANQUISH THE FINNS?!

Really, my only critique of BekHern's FD is the sand-colored costumes. Just because R+J is set in a SoCal beach town doesn't mean you need to dress them like they're at the nudist beach. Give them something vibrant.

When I was maybe 15 my dance group did a performance to Kissing You in these ugly purple velvet costumes and that's all I think about when I hear this music.

I don't know what I think about B/Her.
I definitely like them more than the Swedes in general, but I'm not sure about this specific FD.

After 2 of 4 groups, ice resurfacing. The FD results so far:

I had to pop out and have come back to see the Finns still leading the FD?!

I was in the arena for the RD and was rather underwhelmed at how slow and small they were IRL. Oh well.

I'm wondering when skaters will figure out & Juliet exists. Which is the Broadway equivalent of a Fun Finn program--frothy, not real deep, falls apart if you think about it so much, but so much fun and happy-clappy and you just want to buy some popcorn and a pink, sparkly beverage and buy into its bubblegum popness.

OMG. We're only on group two? I've aged twenty five years during that group. I'm ready to draw social security. Though a cup of hot chocolate sounds damn good. Louisiana has decided to experiment with winter. This experiment should be classified as a failure.

I do not have hot chocolate, but I do have some leftover chocolate chip cookie dough that has been in my fridge since last weekend. It's an acceptable substitute since it's about 44 outside today and, therefore, not cold enough to justify hot chocolate.

Most of the stalls ran out of food during the break between men and dance, so people who were hoping for food now are out of luck. FSU smuggling skills for the win.

Pretty sure some of the numbers (by their original artists) are being done in the RDs everyone is already whining about. ;)
