Really, my only critique of BekHern's FD is the sand-colored costumes. Just because R+J is set in a SoCal beach town doesn't mean you need to dress them like they're at the nudist beach. Give them something vibrant.

Well, he took him to watch the FDs, so probably not.

I do not have hot chocolate, but I do have some leftover chocolate chip cookie dough that has been in my fridge since last weekend. It's an acceptable substitute since it's about 44 outside today and, therefore, not cold enough to justify hot chocolate.

There is no temperature where hot chocolate is not acceptable. After all, people drink coffee in all weather.

Ok, let's see what the new Goddess of skating skills a.k.a. "A Totally Spanish Spaniard" a.k.a. Olivia Smart has for us.

New costume for Tim - I like it better than the brown ones he's had for past iterations of this Dune I & II FD. I think her costume is also new - has a dusty blue undertone that the previous ones did not have.

The first 20 seconds are mesmerizing. But then it's slowly starts losing me. Except for the choreo slide which is also excellent. The dance remix final kills it for me.

The talent/skill level isn’t anywhere the same, but Smart/Dieck’s Dune reminds me of how Anissina and Peizerat created programs with highlight moves that really matched with the music.

Still brilliantly choreographed BUT it’s choreographed in a way to help mask the weaknesses. It’s very empty between the elements, but the elements really hit.

Finally able to watch some of this as morning here.

Olivia and Tim were amazing. Beautifully performed. That program is a perfect example of tension and release. The created the intensity and then let it go. Plus picked up every little nuance of the music.

Happy for Olivia to have such a good skate in her hometown I remember her winning pre-novice solo dance a very long time ago.
