I don't think it matters much if Maddie goes as national champ or not - probably not as much as we think anyway.A couple of these jumps looks a little suspect to me. I think this will be enough, but I also bet SC wants Schizas to go to the Olympics as the national champion.
It was well skated, but she does look a little junior, especially right after Gabby’s speed.
Yes - it was lovely but I thought it lacked somewhat in intensity, which this music requires. It was well skated, but she does look a little junior, especially right after Gabby’s speed.
Can’t wait to see what she brings as she matures.Okay, yes I can see what Kwon excels at but I enjoyed so much more the programs and maturity from Maddie and Gabby.![]()
That came across for me on streaming as well.Live in the arena I did feel like Minsol's speed and ice coverage were a bit lacking, but she is only 15 and has time to develop that. She is a beautiful skater.
No it was a good competition from the judges both short and free.I can get on board with these results. Do we think anyone was hosed with the marks they got?
She is 16 (turning 17 next month per her ISU bio). But I agree with you.Live in the arena I did feel like Minsol's speed and ice coverage were a bit lacking, but she is only 15 and has time to develop that. She is a beautiful skater.
It’s the first year of the next gen skaters in seniors! Obviously the junior development program is working.I love that we have so many women in Canada right now with strong, powerful jumps.
She was juvenile and novice national champion. And second (maybe 3rd?) as a junior. I don’t see how she would have been shut out of anything next gen related.I'd give the next gen program a few years before declaring it a success. It's based on focusing on the most "promising" skaters as early as possible. If that model had been in place before, Canada's last women's world champion probably would have been shut out before she reached her full potential.
