Oh no. It’s got to be so tough to skate the rest of the program after the missed 3A (knowing realistically she needed it to have any chance at being named over Maddie). I hope Sara-Maude can learn from this experience and put it all together next quad.

Well it looks like Maddie will be going to the Olympics again. The only question will be will she go as reigning Canadian champion.

Props to Gabby for not giving up on the program though. Her comeback this year was truly remarkable.

When did Gabby move to Colorado Springs?

I think it’s only part-time. She has been there during this fall and prior to Christmas.

Gabby did NOT let that go. Really good effort here. With the mistakes though Maddie is going back to the Olympics.

Good for Gabby but I feel like she needed another year training and competing to really challenge for the title.

She's had such a ridiculously tough time since 2018, I hope this is satisfying for her, regardless of the Olympic berth.

That obviously won't be enough to beat Maddie and get the Olympic spot, but Gabby has gotten better with every competition she has done this year. This is the best she has skated in a long time.

I have a such a soft spot for Gabby because she sounds almost exactly like my niece when she speaks - I guess York Region gals born in the 1990s have a distinct speaking style. Also this is one of Gabby better long programs - it really worked for her.

If Gabby had made the first triple lutz this might have been really close, based on the tech tracker. Only the triple loop is showing -GOE.

Good for her for keeping it together after the first mistake. Score tells me they would have given it to her if she’d been clean.

That ended up being closer than I thought. Gabby looks devastated but I hope she will be proud of herself at the end of the day.

Minsol is really developing into an exquisite skater. Seriously, Skate Canada needs to be calling up the KSU and paying whatever they want to get her released to compete internationally stat.

Having only one spot was going to mean heartbreak for many.

Damn.

Kwon's lutz edge could be a difference here. She got 3Lze in the short. And she did two 3Lz here.

A couple of these jumps looks a little suspect to me. I think this will be enough, but I also bet SC wants Schizas to go to the Olympics as the national champion.

It was well skated, but she does look a little junior, especially right after Gabby’s speed.
