I’m confused… why is everyone discussing the NQS competitions in this thread? Based on the thread title, I thought this thread was for lesser competitions. With that being said, is there a general NQS thread? I suppose if there isn’t one, it should be created?

Yes, this is the catch-all for all of the summer club and NQS competitions. I'll ask the admins to change the thread title.

I thought Shin/Nagy looked good for this early. I was worried about their death spiral because i thought his pick looked like he may have lost it for a sec which is why I think they lost the death spiral. Pretty good score with a 0 element honestly.

I agree, they did look really good for this early in the season. And the 3tw is coming along nicely for them - probably helps that he is such an experienced pairs skater already, but it was much improved from 4CCs. She stepped out quickly from the throw, and his pivot was wobbly in the death spiral - I had to rewind and watch it again to see it, but they did lose credit for it which explains their score.

PerMich also looked good, but their music was pretty bland. Is this from the Julie Marcotte collection? My attention sort of drifted about halfway through their program.

McBPark also not too bad for this point in the season, though they need to work on their SBS spins.

I legit thought they did a double twist until I saw the protocols, so I'd say yes, an improvement on that hahaha

Short report from the Philadelphia (Iceworks) Championships:

Johnny Weir (Coach Weir) was there with a couple of students. He looked very well wearing normal clothes and a baseball cap.

I accidently tripped over Tammy Gambill's foot.

Emmanuel Savary's short program is a fantastic tango that is both sultry and energetic with tons of choreo highlights. Unfortunately, he had a fall.

Gabby Daleman, wow.

Alex Evans strongly resembles Michelle Kwan in posture and skating style (and triple-double combo). It kind of took me to my happy place.

Amber Barth strongly resembles Amber Glenn in lots of ways. Her music was Telephone.

Clare Seo has a ways to go to get ready for the season.

I wasn't watching super closely but Schizas looked pretty good from what I saw. I thought she looked a little less unpolished than other times I've seen her skate (but honestly I think some of that comes from nerves so)

Erica Machida gets bonus points for a Chappell Roan short (Kaleidoscope and Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl)

Glacier Falls Senior SP (all teams)

I liked Shin/Nagy with the Godfather music.

The protocols for the sbs jumps  don't match the video for PerMich.

How so? Protocols say they did SBS 3T - they clearly used their toe picks on the jump takeoff and they certainly weren't doing a 3Lz or 3F.

His landing? Am I watching the right thing?
