2025 Skate Canada Int'l in Saskatchewan & 2026 Canadians in Gatineau QC

Restaurants downtown Saskatoon that have good food:

Golden Pagoda - Burmese food
Earl's -
St. Tropez - fine dining, cocktail bar
Deadly Dan's - burgers close to downtown Ave.B

There's a lot of restaurants in the downtown area, plus the hotels all have a dining room.

For Friday, here's your choices:

Earl's - caters to groups - downtown

Birmingham's Vodka & Ale House - on circle drive not close to the rink or most hotels

Saskatoon Inn - on airport drive it's the closest to Sasktel Centre. A long walk but in the right area and they cater to groups.

Saskatoon has a varety of restaurants, a lot of oriental, ukrainian, canadian, probably caribbean somewhere...

Thinking 15 for lunch. Look it over and let me know.

I checked with my niece it’s about $25 - 30 for a taxi from Sasktel to downtown. But assuming people sharing won’t be too bad. Doesn’t seem to be anything around the rink which is a shame as that would have logistically been so much easier.

The best hotel restaurant close to Sasktel Place is the Saskatoon Inn. I think for groups they stick you in your own place. I'd have to phone to find out more. Other than that downtown. I'd suggest we come up with an idea sooner rather than later. This week I have a lot going on so won't have time to do much research. Just a friendly hint. :)

I’m good with Saskatoon Inn, thanks for researching Pat.

Bag policy at SaskTel Centre:

SaskTel Centre asks all guests to arrive early and travel light. All guests and bags are subject to screening. No bags or backpacks will be permitted into SaskTel Centre except personal bags smaller than 12”x9”x5”. Diaper and medical bags will be screened prior to entry.
The clear bag is 12x12x5. They will not allow it?

Like many public venues up in Canada it’s less about clear bags and more about size of the bag fitting with the person in their seat. Purses or small backpack purses are ok.

So they will strictly enforce the size of the bags?
I am so used to bring the clear 12x 12x 5 bags so I need to find and buy a 12x9x5 bag! 😂
