2025 GPF Pairs SP - “N A G O Y A”

What was the point of that backflip by the Canadians? Desperation move? Over scored much. This is a battle between two of the best Russian pair coaches in the business. I hope both of their teams make the podium.

Something somewhat unique? I suppose the same could be said for the headstand opening of the Georgians but I don't think either are desperation moves
Except the headstand doesn't interrupt the program and the backflip did. If they want to do it for the audience gasp factor, it's in the wrong place. Put it at the end and it might be impressive. Where it is is just disruptive and stops the flow. It added nothing to the program.

Minerva, the queen of solid SPs over and over throughout both of her partnerships girl what are you doing?

Glorious 3Lo throw is right, though. Just sunk into the ice on the landing.

Minerva Fabienne Hase/Nikita Volodin 🇩🇪
Coach: D. Savin, K. Schubert, S. Brandado, R. Rex
Music: El Abrazo by Maxime Rodriguez

Triple Twist 4
1S* - Minerva singled, invalid element
Throw 3Lo
Axel Lasso Lift 4
Back Inside Death Spiral 4
Change Foot Combo Spin 4

Step Sequence 3 (4 after review)

This team continues to make costly, and nervy errors.

71.68 = 3rd Place

MiNiki - 3tw - nice; SBS 3s - she popped; throw 3lo - beautiful; lift - excellent; BODS - good today; SBS spins - very close but the unison was off on the 1st position; step seq - fine.

All these top teams are nervy, which is the main reason why predicting the Olympic podium is a crapshoot in pairs.

Such a good vibe program. Easily the best presentation PCS IMO. But even aside from the 1S they were much less cohesive than usual.

The presenation and attention to the tango theme is fabulous for Hase and Volodin. But the jump error and poor synch on the spins is going to bury them here. :fragile:

ETA: Not last...umm, okay, I'll take it. That second mark does matter.

ConMac - 3tw - excellent; throw 3lo - gorgeous; SBS 3s - good; lift - eh, timing seemed a bit off on the entry; step seq - far aerial camera angle to start - eh, steps seemed fine; BODS - assisted flip over his arms on the entrance was cool; SBS spins - best of the day so far.

That should take the lead.

Excellent! Such flair, always in character, nice choreography and nuances. The dance spin-esque move that he throws her out of. The cartwheel into the shoot the duck into the death spiral. Should definitely be the leaders.
