2025 GPF JUNIOR Rhythm Dance - Baa Baa Backstreets, Have You Any Boys?

Iryna Pidgaina/Artem Koval 🇺🇦
Coach: Galina Churilova
Music: Everybody (Backstreets Back), U Can’t Touch This

Sequential Twizzle W:4 M:4
Midline Step Sequence W:1 M:1
Rhumba 1st Sec 2 + kpNNYY
Quickstep 1st Sec
2 + kpNYYN (1 + kpNNYN after review)
Rotational Lift 4

I really enjoy their skating skills, and they carry nice speed, and power throughout the performance. This style of program isn't really in their wheelhouse, and the free dance is a much better fit.

63.43 = 1st Place

It is my favourite rhythm dance of the season. I think Daniil had a checked rotation in the 2nd twizzle so we'll see if that changes the initial level given.

66.77 = 1st Place

The reason I think these programs work so much better is because they have to keep moving, they aren't reliant on the stop and go choreography, and they are forced to sell the program throughout all of it from start to finish rather than in the step towards the end.

Anyways, score changes for them:
QS down to level 1 - NNYN
His twizzle down from 4 to 3

Jr RD results:
1 Hana Maria ABOIAN / Daniil VESELUKHIN USA 66.77 36.19 30.58 7.68 7.71 7.61 0.00 #6

The junior RD works much better with the theme than the senior version. I'm not even opposed to the Rhythm Sequence, but I think it should have levels and not be choreographic. I agree with Tony that the fact that the junior programs keep moving really enhances the program.

Simply an amazing performance by Hana and Daniil!!! It's also my favorite RD of the season in either Juniors or Seniors. Plus it's my favorite Vogue and they never stop moving fast with intricate choreography. Very well done and congratulations to them and their team of Denis, Melissa, and Oksana!

I think the Seniors, for whatever reason, don't want to give into the camp of the 90s. The juniors seem to enjoy that aspect.

Only just caught up, and I'm sorry, but Aboian/Veslukhin are the most enjoyable skaters to watch in this entire GPF, junior or senior. It's true.

I could watch Hana-Maria all day. HOW is this tiny fifteen-year-old the hugest, most fabulous diva on the entire international scene? HOW IS SHE OUT-VOGUING GODDAMN GUILLAUME CIZERON?? By, like, 5000 miles, it's not even close. Does she know she's doing that? I really hope she does. I love her forever.

Catching up now, and thanks to a ridiculous camera angle and then no replay, I have only the haziest idea of what actually went wrong with V/B's twizzles. You had ONE JOB, cameraperson. :rolleyes:

It was bad, I agree. It looked to me like he stumbled out of the first twizzle so early that he couldn't even get enough rotations credit for Base level.
