2025 Canadian Jr. & Sr. Sectionals/Challenge

Next Gen member Natasha Hewitt had a good skate with a triple loop double toe combo. All positive GOE on the tracker.

Looking at the protocols Pollock's triple flip was called 3Fq with ! but since it got full base value she still got the bonus.

Ice resurfacing after one group due to an odd number of groups. Sigh this always catches me off guard.

Results after group 1:

1 Reese Rose ON 52.13
2 Natasha Hewitt ON 49.33
3 Séléna Koster QC 41.22
4 Brookelynn Pollock BC/YK 38.67
5 Mila Marleau ON 30.25
6 Lucille Yang ON 29.79

I remember Mégane Vallières from Quebec sectionals where she also had a great skate in the short. I think this should take the lead. Tech tracker disappeared before the final element but it should be over 30. 56.26, she does take the lead.

Wow Lia Cho is so talented. And she's so tiny. She will probably win this competition (and nationals) by a lot. But she can't skate junior internationally until the 2026-2027 season so I will hold off getting too excited about her potential.

Stavrina Aranitis, next gen member, looks devestated after her score and ranking (21st) are announced. Two falls and no combo.
