What if the Olympic team ends up being Emily and Spencer and Chelsea and Ryan, holy cow. 🌸🌼

We will get to see Chelsea and Ryan one more time this weekend.

Still looking to see seasons bests and who has citizenships.
You're not getting LiuBed on the Olympic team. I will state that unequivocally right now. If it's not ChanHowe and KamO then the other team will be either ShiNagy or PlaFern. Bet me on this.

They're sure gunning for making USFSA look really stupid for their choice of who to send to Beijing.
I'm not saying a word until we see their FS tomorrow, but yeah... My "look at that" judgment of the USFS' is as ready to go as it was a couple weeks ago after McBark put up a score that would have earned that 3rd spot at Nebelhorn.

Chan/Howe SP!

So much to love about this performance. Spencer hamming it up hard after the first three elements were swishy clean and Emily matching his hamming for once, lol. Their SBS spins were spectacularly in synch. Just really not a lot to criticize about their program.

ETA - also @Jonas I'm eagerly awaiting your praise of Emily Chan for landing a clean 3Toe today.

They did a really great job - best spins I think I’ve ever seen. Can’t say I enjoy the music but it obviously speaks to them.
I don’t usually pay too much attention to costumes but it seems this year there is so much black - even with juniors. Are some of them temporarily costumes because the “real” ones aren’t ready yet?

Liu/Bedard's score of 68 at Tayside SP would put them 6th between Stellato/Deschamps and Efimova/Mitrofanov on the SB list right now...
Well, unfortunately, the judges detailed results sheet is blank as far as the elements go, so we don't really know how generous that score was - someone who purchased the feed said that Conti/Macii only did SBS 2s and they got a 70+ for their SP at Tayside. That information makes me question the rest of the scoring.

Santa Maria of Guadalupe!! Chelsea and Ryan almost took down Sara and Niccolo and scored almost as good as Emily and Spencer yesterday.

I told you they would’ve kicked butt at the Chinese qualifier and qualified the third team. But let’s see how they do in free.

I just said yesterday, Chelsea and Ryan for the Olympic

🥇🥇

Sweetie, it's Tayside. Scores here are always generous. We don't even have the complete detailed judges' scores and no videos have surfaced so we really don't know what was or wasn't called.

Yes we do. Skating Scores as always has them.

You’re not taking this from me (or the world) and yes, I will take you on that bet now. I would like to suggest $1000 large, LIFEtime supply of peanut butter cups which also includes Halloween and Christmas editions, Equinox Beverly Hills membership, and tickets to the Olympics women’s short and free program. Deal?

And they’re not going to throw generous scores at a brand new team.

🦄👻

It's all relative. New teams don't score that high at Challengers or GPs, but they often do at minor Senior Bs like Tayside.

I wouldn't have sent them to Skate To Milano, simply because they ARE a brand-new team, despite beating ShiNagy at John Nicks. I would, though, if they skate clean, put them on the short list for the SkAm TBD spot over ShiNagy - though not over ChanHowe who beat both teams by 16-18 points at John Nicks - but if ChanHowe can score a 2nd GP somewhere else, I'd be fine with the SkAm spot going to LiuBed.

I really thought for sure that Sui and Han would be out of the Grand Prix but their spots are staying. Is anyone else questionable? It looks like Anastasia and my husband spots have already been reassigned.

Laurin/Ethier haven't skated since the SP at the Quebec Summer Champs back in mid-August and there aren't any Canadian pairs teams who could fill their spot at SCI (their 2nd assignment is SkAm, which doesn't help any US teams).

I have my doubts as to whether or not SuiHan actually make it to their 2nd GP if CoC doesn't go well - but their 2nd GP is NHK, which is ChanHowe's only assignment currently.

DanTsi are dealing with a shoulder injury for Michel, so hopefully they'll be able to compete at NHK which is their only GP right now - again, doesn't help ChanHowe get a 2nd GP.

Pavlova/Sviatchenko haven't competed yet at all this fall - they're assigned to GPdF and NHK - presumably they're showing up at GPdF next week since they haven't withdrawn yet, and if they do wind up WDing from NHK - again, no help for ChanHowe in getting a 2nd GP.

FlorWang are back on the ice per their IGs, but who knows what sort of shape they'll be in by the time SkAm rolls around.

I wish GoluGM had waited to WD from SCI until next week, lol.

I think USFS' overt favoritism in pairs has been going on for so long that they probably don't even notice it. It's odd that USFS prefers to push teams with an older experienced male and a younger brand-new-to-pairs girl/woman. Rarely, do these pairing pay off in any meaningful way, see, e.g, Marley/Brubaker or Shin/Nagy at the OQE. I mean, you can promote all you want and give unearned opportunities, but if the team can't hit when it counts, where does that leave you?

Preach.

Oh, and look at that... 193.70 from ChanHowe today at Trialeti Trophy. Another team that would have EASILY earned the 3rd spot a few weeks ago in Beijing.
