Someone needs to burn this music. Also, there has to be a law that you can't do YMCA if you don't do the YMCA arms!
They did do the arms.

i actually love this part because they manage to do it in hold-ish and it doesn't look awkward so it's funThey did do the arms.
I agree, not enough qualifiers in ANY discipline for the GPF!I'm all for 12 dance teams in the GP final. If they really want too, they can cut to 2 warmup groups' worth of skaters for the FD. that would get the Finns in this![]()
It happens a lot, and if there's only one judge doing it, it doesn't really matter since that'll get tossed.Spanish judge, Ms. Marta OLOZAGARRE, gave the following to Lajoie/Lagha 7:00 / 7.25 / 6.50
6.50 in Skatings Skills for a team that finished 5th at worlds last year and qualified for the GPF
I admit I don't follow things that closely anymore but I don't recall anything THAT blatant in some time.
Hence the blatant comment. It happens a lot, and if there's only one judge doing it, it doesn't really matter since that'll get tossed.
But for what it's worth, she was at Skate America last year and gave them 8.50/8.75/8.25 in the rhythm dance.
I'm curious what people in the arena think because last season i thought he came across a lot better in person
What does that mean? What did they do wrong exactly? Does anyone know?Digging into the protocols a bit...
Both ChoBat and LajLag received 1 "violation of choreo restrictions" notification. GilPoir received 1 "costume/prop violation" notification.
Won’t that potentially hinder your wuzrobbing if you don’t see the others?![]()
I beg to differ. When I saw the glitter air tanks I laughed out loud. It's exactly the right level of silliness for Barbie.
Ted: it's like a history lesson. Hmm, I'm not sure that's what the Visionary Shawn had in mind.
I will never understand the judges' love for Chock and Bates. Never.
They've shown a pink floral one in practices at both Finlandia and this week, but they haven't worn it in competition yet. There is apparently a 5th one, but I haven't seen a photo of it yet, so I don't think they've worn it at any public practices yet. What are the 4 outfits that G&P have used because I only remember 3. Pink & Yellow combination, the Lifeguards, Scuba and ....
Because it doesn't matter how hard the dance is. They are looking at four specific sets of steps within the pattern and if the edges and turns aren't clean, then no 'Y' assigned. There is so much meticulousness going on there.
But do you even know which set of steps they are looking at?Because almost any skater can do some turns but they have to be precisely clean and on the correct edges throughout.
This is why I constantly say it's not really a case of 'oh that looked good, I can guess the level'. Doesn't work like that on the midline and pattern steps in dance.
Used to be we knew all the key points and the detailed sheets would show YNYY or whatever. Why don’t they do that any more? Have the key points been shrouded in mystery to the skaters as well for some… vision?Okay, but no one is saying that. We are explaining that they are key points within the entire pattern that are literally the only thing that matter when assigning the level. One technical panelist is zoned in on the woman and one is zoned in on the man, as it's quite difficult to follow both throughout. The dance itself may look smooth as hell but it might not have an exactly precise shift from LBO to LFI edge, or so-on. Maybe there's a flat. Maybe there's a split-second wavering of the edge.
Unless you have the literal exact steps of the dance memorized, then everything can look like L4 where they didn't hit a single thing correctly. Same with the one-foot sequence.
What does that mean? What did they do wrong exactly? Does anyone know?
