2024 GPdF Womens FS PBP - Running Up Those Stairs (to KnC)

Mayindu probably never expected to be here at this point in her career and got switched in very late, so I’m giving slack. I really liked how excited she was by just being there at a Grand Prix yesterday.

Her jump technique has no air awareness or consistent timing going in, which is so reminiscent of some of the real French greats of the past.

That was really rough. Have we ever seen someone get all negative goe? The color of her dress looks great on her

Whoah ..... that was one extremely rough skate for Clemence. Poor girl .... wish she could have had a better performance in front of her home country audience. I liked her dress .... beautiful color (not that I can count on my screen to always give me the exact shade).

Poor Clemence, based on the warmup, any jumping pass with less than -3 GOE or any spin more than a L2 is an overachievement. The last minute to 90 seconds was skated in slow motion.
All negative red blobs except for one neutral gray one, and yes I think almost all non-jump elements were called initially level 2 or lower, if not all.

Loena sitting at home thinking she needed more time to prepare and we get this.... Sigh. Poor kid.

She hasn't been having a grand time, hope this doesn't put her off.

As a French person, I'm mystified by the "French jump technique" . I've taken skating classes consistently in the UK, France and Russia, and my course in Paris was awesome, with very engaged teachers, 1h30 twice weekly, AND very precise technical instruction. Only the private teacher I had in Russia was as good (and it's only because it was Russia that I could afford private lessons).

I know that Mark tried to be philosophical about her gaining perspective and experience, but this might dissuade her from ever competing again.
