2024 Finlandia Trophy Pairs FS PBP - All We Are Saying Is Give Pairs a Chance

Have you seen Calla Urbanski in the 90s, in her 30s, trying a double Axel? Gives me the same kind of vibes but her technique was a total how in the hell did this come about?
Well I didn’t immediately think of Urbanski, but yes totally.

I love the music from Dracula. Always reminds me that it's time I watched a good vampire movie again. So many Dracula ones to choose from. Hmmm...

Rebecca's jump technique is why I switched from freestyle to dance.

So if gymnasts get the twisties, can skaters lose the ability to know where they are in the air? Because if they really can't all the time they aren't going to get to this level.
Yes. That's why many skaters have trouble jumping in show lights early in or throughout their careers. Or why skaters come out of their jumps forwards out of nowhere where rotating seemingly fine.

Van Der Perren used to spot - 1 rotation - spot - 1 rotation - spot - 1 rotation so obviously in the air, it's so fascinating to me but he's the only one that it was so prominent.

Said it before and will say it again, that throw lutz needs to go. They are so freaking tentative going into it and even when she lands it it is never going to get the GOE that their throw Sal will. And to put it mildly, it does not compare favourably to the throw lutz of the Japanese who have a real wow element with that.

This is certainly better than Skate Canada, but this season just looking like a struggle for them in a way that last season didn’t.

SDDes - 3tw - nice; SBS 3t+1a+2a - ehhhh - her landing was rough on the 2a; SBS 2s - looked deliberate - nice of them to join Em & Spencer in that club, lol; first lift - good; buried the pairs combo spin in the middle of the program - thank you; throw 3z - bad landing and then she fell after she made the turn out of it; second lift - good; choreo seq - it's still lame; throw 3lo - good; last lift - good; death spiral - hate the position and it's NOT a highlight to end a program on, sorry.

The judges don't like this program. I'm telling you they will be off the podium if they aren't at their very best come Worlds. The choreo sequence got a measly +2. A lot of elements with very minimal positive GOE.

Miura/Kihara have it all over them in the short, Hase/Volodin are the big scorers when they are on, and Metelkina/Berulava will also rack up the points if they are consistent.

Did I miss which costume we are throwing out? I nominate the POTC set but only because he has that pirate skull on his.

Are 6 pairs getting to the GPF?
If so - will it be Pavlova/Sviatcenko or Cam/O'Shea?

Kam/OShea. How dare you not read my CONSTANT posting about it :p

Stellato/Deschamps (30), Miura/Kihara (28), Metelkina/Berulava (24), Kam/O'Shea (24) in.

Hase/Volodin and Conti/Macii need to simply finish top 4 next week (Germans really just top 5), and there are your six.

She really does seem to be holding her wrist.

And also making clear there will be no turkey and gravy for Christmas.

"Really healthy, not Christmasy food" says Deanna. Well now, that kind of blows a lot of the fun out of Christmas, doesn't it?
