and it is very unfair that no one was telling Selevko that the hip combo of the day is double something 3toe - the guy had no chance at all!

"Heavily invested in Kevin's skating" is about right. I don't think I've been as nervous for a skater since my all-time queen Butyrskaya two decades ago.

When he landed that final 3F in his free skate in Dallas and turned the corner with a big beam on his face, those are the absolute moments I wish for constantly in skating and we don't really get them anymore.

yes, those are the moments.

Like Sarah Meier's win. Or Selevkos Silver medal last year at Euros.
Or indeed last years Japanes Nationals Men Free skating the whole last group.
