Strange that Kaiya is skating in Ottawa, and not in Calgary (and Edmonton). Also too bad that Wesley is only in Vancouver, and not in Victoria too. I do think that it would be a good idea for both SOI and Canadian skating to give a bit more exposure to the new Canadian champs, both of whom are likely to be around for several years.

Kaiya is originally from Ottawa, so maybe she was given the choice of which show and took that one?

It’s good they are giving both Kaiya and Wesley this opportunity.

I had hoped maybe a couple more full time cast members would be announced but we’re getting a little late in the game for that. Another pair team would have been my vote if they couldn’t get/afford another big name.

So Kurt can still strap on blades and skate around. I thought that I saw him gliding around in a Dave Lease TSL show. He could’ve shown up and glided a bit in the Worlds gala.

Happy that he’s actively involved in SOI Japan!

Glad to hear Kurt is still so involved. One thing that stood out to me, among the many great things Kurt brings, is his appreciation for the audience. Piper and Paul also seemed so genuinely touched that fans liked their work and were willing to pay hard earned money to see them. Sometimes the younger skaters, more accustomed to the amateur ranks, need to be taught that.

"Curious about the 2024 @starsonice tour?
@KurtBrowning took time out of his busy schedule as tour director to answer some questions about the show and his creative process. Thanks so much to Kurt and Alissa for recording this from rink side in Japan!"

Re-posting here from Patrick's fan thread:
Patrick has announced that this year's Stars on Ice tour will be his last, and that he and his wife are expecting another boy this summer. I'm so glad to have seen him skate in the gala at Montreal Worlds and hope that he will continue to do occasional skating appearances if not a full tour.
SOI also shared his video on 4/19: https://twitter.com/starsonice/status/1781482731546808638

Hoping to go to the Toronto show. I’m quite surprised that there’s no Hamilton show.
I think there were planned renovations at Copps (or whatever it might be called now :p ). Kurt made some kind of comment last year during the re takes that the tour would see them again after the renovations in a couple of years.

Seems that the renovations got delayed recently and the building is still in use, but this was likely after the tour schedule was already made.

I’m at SOI opening night in Halifax.

It’s the break now.

She’s definitely different.

The annals of Kurt Browning’s mind have definitely emerged.

Highlights of the first half for me were Maddie Schizas skating to “The Lion King” and Piper and Paul skating to “Whiter Shade of Pale.”

Who?

Enjoy!
The show.

Highlights from the second half include:

Deanna and Max (Let’s Hear it For The Boy).

Crash Test Keegan complete with a half-drunk guy from the audience screaming “Go! Run!”

Ilia’s jumping test.

Rockstar Elvis.

The theme was definitely unique and trying a bit too hard to be funny at times (not everyone’s cup of tea for sure) but overall a great show.

I laughed at a couple of Easter eggs in the script for the die-hard fans such as us here at FSU.

My DH didn’t know why I busted out laughing at a couple of things.
