2024 4CC - Women Short:”Hey Seoul Sister”

Just tuning in and saw Rakhamo and Kokko in the audience.

Me, "ZOMG, Susanna Rahkamo and Petri Kokko look 60! What happened?"

Quick online searching. Time happened. Susanna turns 60 in a few days, and Petri is 59 today. (Happy birthday to both of them.)

Can't believe their Euros win was 30 years ago :scream:.

Ahsun - 3z+3t good; nice 2a; 3f - also good; rest of the elements quite lovely. This will score well if the jump review holds up (b/c Korean women always get reviewed, lol).

Sara-Maude - 3t+3t good; 2a also nice; 3z - solid; well, I wasn't expecting this solid of a skate from her, but good job! I can see this being in the low 60s.
Way to butcher Sara-Maude's last name.
both Chris & the arena lady announcer!

on the money

Also, when Chris says a skater is motoring into a jump, it creeps me out.

Higuchi's combo looked 3Fe+3T< (possibly even <<) to me. Should be in -5 territory yet currently has positive GOE. We'll see if it holds. Lutz should get a -3 or -4 as well. This should go below Dupuis with fair judging.

Wakaba - 2a nice; 3z - flipped out on the landing; 3f+3t - I know Chris thinks it was brilliant, but I'm going out on a limb and saying the 3t gets a q. She should easily lead, but once again, she's digging herself a whole in the SP. This is 100% the reason why I don't expect her on the Worlds podium.

They didn't even bother to look at the Lutz edge; and they called the 3t a q, which is what I predicted. You are a harsh taskmaster, lol.

Disappointed with the calling - q for the toe was generous, and seems like no edge call on the flip nor underrotation call on the lutz.

Rino - this dusty rose/millennial pink costume just washes her out & I hate it. 2a - nice; 3f+3t - both jumps should get reviewed; ooooof - pops the 3z into a 2z - and no, it was not an elegant pop. Not her worst SP of the season, by a fair measure, but still doing herself no favors & she'll be aiming to end her season with another clean FS to make up for the hole she dug herself in the SP.

Not sure about that last jump but the combo actually looked clean. and the 2X was swoosh.

oh, "artistic" camerawork

Alysa - 3f+3t - both should be reviewed; 2a - beautiful; 3z - that looked good. This program is really one of the masterpieces this season. Right up there with SmaDie's Dune FD at the top of my list of programs that I love every time I see it.
