Anyone watch? I thought Peru had it easily, she ran away with everything. I’m shocked by the final five end result as I thought it was between her and Dominican Republic.

Also mad that it was in my area and the audience was so limited this year.

Andrea Meza was first runner up in Miss World 2017 and now takes the crown as Miss Universe maybe the first pageant contestant to do this feat?

Andrea was my pre-pageant favorite so I was happy to see her win it! I have to admit I didn’t think she’d pull it off after struggling with her final question and Peru answering so flawlessly but she redeemed herself in the second round. I thought all of the top 5 were great overall and would’ve been worthy winners. I wanted to attend this year as well but tickets were sold out due to the limited audience.

Andrea is the first Miss World 1st runner up to win Miss Universe but three other ladies have done the reverse, finishing 1st runner up at Miss Universe and then going on to win Miss World. Also Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was top 5 at Miss World 2016.
