2018 ISU Challenger Series announced

Holy Moly

Who knew Golden Spin was the place to be!!!!!

44 entries for ladies???? whoa... Is this the highest amount of entries for a senior ISU competiton????? Will there be a cutoff for the free skate?

30 in men!

Dance just looks to be a mini Euros competition. No one from outside of Europe.

At the 2009 world championships, I believe there were 54 ladies entered.

It might be an unprecedented entry number for a CS event. I'm thinking like the Junior Grand Prix competitions with more than 30 skaters, that everyone is allowed to compete in both the short and the long.

Wow, nice to see Roberta Rodighiero back in action. Does anyone know what happened to her the past 2 years?

Seems Inge Solar is mostly juniors.... especially the men.

Only 3 pairs? ugg, Come on Canada cant you send anybody anywhere these days????? Literally I dont see Canada on the rosters for the remaining 3 Challengers.

Tallinn and Golden Spin have nice pairs rosters. Too bad Ingel Solar cluldnt get more entries from them.

I just posted her statement on FB from August 2018 here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/italian-figure-skating-news-updates.104247/#post-5457481

ISU Communication No. 2205, published on Oct. 18, 2018, included this info re. reducing the number of Challengers with pairs events:
14. ISU Challenger Series 2019/20 Based on the experience of the current season, the Council decided that for the ISU Challenger Series season 2019/20 onwards, the Council will annually select only a limited number of events to include Pair Skating, i.e. five of the ten Challenger Series competitions will have Pair Skating.
Inge Solar Memorial originally had 6 pair teams (5 entries from 3 countries are required for ISU World Standings points) but, like Nepela Trophy, withdrawals have reduced the field so that no WS points will be given. :(

According to USFS' International Assignments page, Calalang/Johnson have been moved from Inge Solar Memorial (only 2 pairs remaining) to Tallinn Trophy (9 pairs as of today).

For those who can access the Kiss & Cry section, I've posted Wednesday's Senior Ladies/Men SP starting orders in the CS Inge Solar Memorial competition thread here: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...ruck-aut-nov-13-17.104543/page-2#post-5457823

For those without access, all the CS Innsbruck event info you need is here: https://www.esi-skating.at/
