I've watched the last few Eurovisions with my daughter. This year we didn't see the qualifiers. This is a completely serious question -- why is Portugal getting so many points? Was he better in qualifiers? Does he have a reputation and strong fan following before this competition?

Israel's restructuring their broadcasting authority, and it's in a way that renders them unable to remain a member of the EBU. Thus, they'll no longer be able to participate.
