That was the worst I have seen Guillaume skate in a very long time, but I can't really fault the win because it was against C/B who shouldn't have been so close to begin with.

In the terms of being on, G/P were clearly the best and the only ones who gave it all. But it's impossible to deny the sheer quality of FB/C skating. An unsurprisingly, Italians are 4th at their home Olympics, but even is a bit generous.

I'm so ready for them all to retire now.

Well, 2nd, 5th and 10th is pretty good for the US. And hopefully, gold medal = retirement for a couple of skaters who could probably use some "PR time off to reflect" anyway.

Happy with the results. Piper & Paul were the highlight of the night for me. I really didn't love C/B's program... and even with the error on the Twizzle, I think the best team won. CB got their gold the other night, so they have it, and now hopefully they can retire. Looking forward to the next gen of dancers to have their time in the spotlight.

I wouldn't hate it.

THe only thing dampening my mood regarding Piper and Paul's medal is that I have to watch Cizeron on the same podium.

OMG ..... it's a good thing this Olympic dance event is over. I need to stop crying. I honestly can't remember the last time I EVER was this emotional over skating. The last 3 couples were phenomenal. I'm just exhausted after all that!

It really was a toss-up for me between Laurence/Guillame and Madison/Evan. They both skated their hearts out and left absolutely everything on the ice. Bless them all.

But, the performance of the night for me was Piper and Paul. It's been such a LONG journey for them. And, now, I'll bow out before the waterworks start again.

There was a shot of someone in the audience after Z/K skated who had 'pour ne pas disparaitre' written on their arms, wish they'd shown it again after FB/C skated. Thinking tonight of Gabi, and Sorenson's victim, disheartening to know that abuse wins out but sadly not unexpected.

Absolutely gutted for Lilah and Lewis, though with how well Piper and Paul skated they would likely have been off the podium anyway. TNT showing a heartbreaking interview with them now, Lilah is in tears.

Casual fans texting me asking “what happened?” I’m just going to refer them to The Skating Session, so be ready @tony and @thvu to explain to complete casuals.

I enjoy all of their episodes but most of the time when discussing FB/C it delves into an extended discussion about how they have the best skating skills ever and that's the most important thing (although @tony has been good in recent episodes to try & call out when he sees something done well by the other teams including C/B). And C/B usually includes an extended discussion about how her twizzles are the worst ever & completely undeserving of the scores they get. Just saying, the casuals who are going in as fans of Piper & Paul or Maddie & Evan probably won't get what they're expecting.

If they can include a couple other strays, then I think this is the take if this competition, really.
