2026 US Nationals Men's Free Skate "It's Raining Menning"

There's no way they'd be able to justify naming Naumov if he hadn't finished ahead of Tomoki.
There's plenty of reason to justify Tomoki getting named to the team despite finishing fifth.

Higher current season WR; higher points total in the Calculation Table; still finished top 5 at Nats; higher season average score... Tomoki qualified into the Selection Pool three different ways; Max only qualified by virtue of his Nats finish.

Changed my mind--I think probably those of you going with there's not going to be much of a discussion among the USFS are probably right. I don't think how they can't go with those three. Had Jason landed one triple axel, there might be an argument, but he didn't. I hope Jason goes to 4CC and does really well and goes out strong.

You have it all with these three--the hearstring sob story, the can he harness his talent, and the golden boy. Though if those are the three, I can't imagine that the USFS is real thrilled about splitting the TE for men's.

4 programs in the span of less than a week? if injured? how he will skate at the free then?
He doesn't seem injured in a way that will impact him long-term. I mean, if he had torn a ligament in his ankle, he wouldn't have been able to jump at all.

The other posted said it I just said I guess I agree. Yall really high strung right now for some reason.

Maybe they wont and Alysa/Amber will get to do it.

I really think people should take how Max feels about talking about his parents into account more when discussing the publicity. Ultimately, what he wants is what matters, and he clearly wants them to be part of his story and wants to talk about how he's skating for them.

I think NBC's coverage is going too far in the direction of exploiting the tragedy, as opposed to honouring Max's parents and their importance in his life.

WUT. Did that American Cruise Lines commercial really have them going down the Mississippi, showing a plantation, AND some guy looking like a Colonel Sanders knockoff? 😬 😳

I’m proud to be a Southern girl, but GEEZ! 🙄
As far as I know, the Mississippi River was the signature foray into cruising and that was among the first I saw for them.

Literally what does that have to do with what I said? Did you read what I said and what I was replying to or did you just want to post the same thing again?

I watched the final group and those three guys on the couch are our Olympians. Jason took himself out of the equation and no way Tomoki is going over Naumov. Jumps aside, Naumov was so much more lyrical and artistic and he did land himself a quad. Ilia is the quad god and Andrew made his case.

@Karen-W where is your post that had all the stats that factor into the selection committee's consideration? I can't find it.

Nevermind - I see you reposted it in the men's thread in GSD. Many thanks.
