What's that based on? All the videos have Russian graphics, feature Russian skaters, and the social media links are all to Russian sites. It screams fan content, not skater looking to promote their brand.
And..what 4 teams would you have had ahead of Chock/Bates?
Gilles/Pourier, Guinard/Fabbri, Lajolie/Lagha and erm.. that's it actually. Just 3. Ok, they should had been 4th.
Do you mean in general, to which I think there is a case to be made, or specifically in Boston? Honestly, the quality of all the top teams was lackluster in my opinion, and there wasn't much of a difference except Chock and Bates looked pretty good in comparison.
In general I don't get why Chock/Bates are placed above Gilles/Poirier and Guinard/Fabbri or why Fear/Gibson are placed above Mrazeks and Taschlers. But that's just my personal likes/dislikes
. Throw out your team's name, compare them to some team that is so far above them that they aren't even in the same conversation, and try to get them in the same conversation. So that for the next event, the judges lump your team in with the teams just below that--which is precisely what said Russian politicker tried to make happen. I seriously have to wonder if Zhulin stood right there at Bazin's elbow while he typed that
.I mean, she lived in Russia for most of her career. It's linked to her Russian social media, and there are lots of videos of her training with the Boston Skating Club and of US skaters she's skated with. Plus there is a comment under one of the videos asking if it's a fan account and the owner says no, she's Alisa. Sure it's not an account like Bella Flores but I don't see why it couldn't be her real account. Otherwise, someone with everyday access to the BSC is doing some serious impersonation.
Personal likes and dislikes have nothing to so w points, scoring, or IJS..If that were the case..my boy Kazuki Tomono would be a World Champion..

Actually, no, that's NOT what Bazin said. He said "if the judging were fair, Chock/Bates wouldn't have even been in the top 5." That is not a personal preference. He is stating, unequivocally, that the judging is unfair and that Chock/Bates should NOT have been in the top 5. Piper and Paul were clearly better in the free and they always outskate chock and bates there.
No they weren't. One could say it was a toss-up, but that would be generous to Piper and Paul, whom I was cheering for. I know the Canadian uber glasses are thick, but you don't have to be.
Absolutely. Wuthering Heights was one of their best FDs. I’m still surprised at the result.
