I did not know that Nam was coached by Stojko? Is this recent?
First I've heard of it. Robert Burke is still listed as his coach, and that's who is with him.
Nguyen added Stojko to his coaching team last summer.

Nathan and Jason do not have coaches in Osaka - the U.S. team leader (woman) was with Jason and Jean-Luc Baker sat with Nathan.
OMG his skating and choreography is to die for :swoon:
Could just watch him skate 12 times over the rest of them .

eta... Has he ever worked with Shae-Lynn? Now I think he and Rohene Ward are an incredible team and produce some great short programs so wouldn't want that to change. But I think he must be a choreographers dream to work with and I'd like to see what Shae-Lynn could create with him.
I'd also like to see what Bourne could do with Jason. I posted the link to an article about Rohene's Alvin Ailey-inspired SP choreography for Jason in his fan thread as well as in the U.S. Men's thread today.

ETA:
participation is decided by World standings right?
It's a factor, along with most recent Worlds placement, but the 6 federations often end up deciding on their own who to send.
Light saber in the KnC!
Best k&c moment for me, especially when everyone else around Thauron "dies" :D (in theme with Siao Him Fa's Star Wars SP).

Shoma, you're killing me. He's been killing me since around late 2017 or very early 2018, so I won't blame Stephane for it. BUT, he really needs to hire someone else to look after Axels. Rika's was almost parallel to the ice and Shoma's has not been good this year.
So, how many PBs and WRs will we see tomorrow and Saturday? That's the question. They surprisingly happen a lot at WTT.

Catching up on things - I'm very happy to see Team France continue to bring their A game to the K&C, and hope it cheered up Lea Serna because that girl looked like she could use a hug earlier today.

Under normal circumstances the flower girls would still be clearing the ice of Pooh bears.

And speaking of Robbie Williams and skating, some pair team needs to do She's The One - it's already choreographed!

Well, I fell asleep during the break between the ladies and men so I finally caught up. Glad to see Nathan bounce back after the Worlds SP fall with a clean SP here. Aymoz was a delight, as were Hanyu and Brown. Kolyada was fine but just a bit lacking in comparison to the top 4.

Uno, Grassl, and Nguyen were :scream::yikes:

Fa, Semenenko, and Sadovsky have their nice points and their meh points. I keep hoping Fa will get it together and live up to the promise he showed as a junior.

Skate Canada was completely correct in sending Keegan to Worlds. JSF really needs to re-think the Lambiel coaching situation for both Shoma and Rika. I thought Rika looked better at Worlds, but she also spent a good month in Colorado Springs this past January-February, so maybe the JSF should encourage both of them to relocate from Switzerland to the Springs.

I've been searching for a video of Kevin and haven't found one. If anybody stumbles across one I'd be grateful :)
Glad to see Fa skate better than earlier this season.

I don’t care if Nathan doesn’t wear “costumes”, I could watch him skate in a bin bag!
Jackie Wong and Phil Hersh are having a conversation on Twitter regarding the fact that Nathan was not particularly keen on this year's SP and that he was most probably glad to have pulled a season's high score on it. I agree and never really liked especially after the last two season's SP's that were great and keyed to Nathan's personality. I'll be curious to see if Shae Lynn choreographs next year's programs and what she will line up in terms of music

Finally getting a chance to watch some vids. Men's SP was fun! Well, at least, for me ... maybe not for some of the skaters (Nguyen, Uno, Grassl come to mind) but whatever.

It's been so long since I've seen Sadovsky skate, I'd forgotten what beautiful musical interpretation he has. Kolyada was not his very BEST but that opening quad combo practically went through the roof!

Can't help it ... I just ADORE Kevin Aymoz. The positions he hits, footwork and choreography (complete with cartwheel) are EVERYTHING. And, of course, his heart is always planted firmly on his sleeve and I just EAT IT UP!

Okay ... I'm just going to say it. Jason Brown is THE KIND OF SKATER I WOULD ALWLAYS PAY BIG BUCKS TO SEE. No quad (and I am a huge quad fan) BUT you can't take your eyes off him for a split second. He's literally "one with the music;" and, for a few minutes, makes you completely forget that anything else exists in the world. LOVE HIM.

Hanyu certainly didn't disappoint. I was thoroughly "entertained." Cats worldwide howled with jealousy at the way he held onto that 3axel. The quad combo was awesome. I agree with others on this thread who've said they like this type of SP for him. He has fun with it ... and so do his fans. Well done, Yuzu.

What's left to say about Nathan? He was fantastic. Definitely deserved higher TES as his axel was clean and he had the more difficult quad jump. But, I think I would have given Yuzuru a bit more over Nathan in the PCS and had them even closer in total score. But, it gets into nitpicking .... they BOTH were fabulous.

Now, off to watch Ladies SP and RD. Love that we have this skating in mid-April. :cheer:

Interesting. I actually thought he looked really good in this outing - maybe he finally grew into the music and the choreography?

Fifteen minutes to Pooh Time!

My main wish here is a clean Nureyev skate for Kolyada, whatever the placement. Everything else would be a bonus for my soul.
