I'm such an Adam fan now and I never thought I would be. But his Worlds FS was my favourite mens FS of these championships (closely followed by Javi obviously)! I loved every minute of it and he really made the most of his skate in Boston. And I never noticed how handsome he is! I rewatched his FS countless times and I'm still in awe of it. I just wish the judges had been as kind to him as they were to flipping Gracie Gold! Grrrrr

I thought that Adam should've won the bronze, and his PCS should've been higher in relation to the field. His skating and performance quality at this Worlds has never been so good, and I had him 3rd to Javier and Yuzu in PCS on the LP. Boyang had quads and that's it in comparison, Adam was miles ahead everywhere else.

I also think that Chan's beautiful skating is often too much reflected in the P/E and IN component marks when he blows it in a performance.

I think that Jason Brown could've pulled off a medal this year. 2 clean programs would've done it, with one quad in the LP and probably PCS right below Hanyu. Hopefully next year they'll get 3 spots for Olympics, otherwise it's going to be very :fragile:

ETA:  this is Anna's thread, whoops

Thought I'd take it out of Anna's thread into here...

Since when does Jason have a quad?! I've never seen him rotate/land one. I don't think he would have got the bronze here and I don't think he would have placed any higher than Adam.

Adam was unlucky that Kolyada turned up out of nowher and skated like THAT! But Adam certainly deserved to be above Chan's meltdown performance.

I'm not a fan of Boyang Jin at all, but when a guy lands so many quads.. what can the judges do?

Adam was one of 4 Skating Club of New York World team members honored by the club in NYC on April 4: https://twitter.com/MaiaShibutani/status/717667060650786816

Re-posting/replying here:
I was wondering too whether Derrick Delmore has been working with Adam in a coaching or training capacity or are they just friends? Derrick was with Adam in the kiss 'n cry at U.S. Nationals.
All of the above, apparently. :) @aftershocks, in case you haven't read the Q&A with Adam published before Worlds, he talks about Delmore's role, among many other things: http://figureskatersonline.com/news...lways-knew-i-had-it-in-me-to-be-u-s-champion/

Adam also mentions Delmore in TSL's 10-minute interview from last night's Figure Skating in Harlem benefit gala in NYC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sLWWigajcE
Adam Rippon may have just had the best season of his career. The 2016 United States Champion skated to a sixth-place finish with two standing ovations at the recent World Figure Skating Championships. We caught up with Adam at this year's FSH gala about his recent success, choreography, mesh, and his busy summer ahead.

Next up: Stars on Ice debut show in Hershey, PA on April 15 (rehearsals started there today). ETA: https://www.instagram.com/p/BEHvb8TvY7q/?taken-by=adaripp

ETA that Adam is included with Ashley Wagner in this Wall Street Journal blog article by Louise Radnofsky published right after Worlds: http://blogs.wsj.com/dailyfix/2016/...ets-for-success-endless-laps-around-the-rink/

Yes, thanks so much @Sylvia for pointing that out. I did recently see the FigureSkatersOnline feature with Adam, and my questions were answered. :) It's nice knowing that Derrick and Adam are close friends. Cool to see Derrick able to support Adam and celebrate with him in the kiss 'n cry. I have fond memories of Derrick's past performances as a U.S. men's competitor!

Local article published before the Stars on Ice show last night in Hershey, PA: http://www.pennlive.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/04/us_mens_figure_skating_champ_a.html

Adam's "Fly On" in the second half of the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMNCXg06QkY
He performed his Beatles medley free skate in the first half.

@Jozet wrote a detailed review of the show in GSD (posts #131-132): http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/ind...ars-on-ice-u-s-tour.97534/page-5#post-4777109
Excerpt :D:
ACT TWO ...
ADAM – Coldplay, Fly On. Hands down, my favorite program of the evening. This is glorious. Imagine the most light and elegant skating matched with moments of angular, bird-like choreography (no, not Firebird)…Adam skating this program must be what it would have been like to watch Van Gogh paint—pure emotion told with artistry in motion while acknowledging the constraints of our own bodies to produce that motion. Mesmerizing. I want to see this again.

Thank you for the link. I LOVED this program. Just watched it again and my 9yo son heard the music and rushed in the room to see the program again. (He also loved "Sounds of Silence" with Jeremy, Ryan and Adam. Although, his only review of that was "Now THAT program took a LOT of hair gel." :D)

Thanks, @Doubletoe for posting/sharing in the Programs/Choreographers thread in GSD!
Be prepared for a treat with Adam Rippon's new freeskate, which he was busy choreographing this week. Never heard the music before, but it is contemporary, has lyrics and is gorgeous. His choreography so far is gorgeous, too! No short program in the works quite yet.
Benji Schwimmer tweeted about working with Adam last week.

Michelle Kennedy (Figure Skating Examiner blog based in Seattle) was credentialed at Team Challenge Cup in Spokane last month and published this article afterwards:
Adam Rippon aims to carry momentum into next season
It mentions Schwimmer and Jeff Buttle as his choreographers (Buttle will choreograph the SP).

ETA:

Adam recently created a new FB fan page: https://www.facebook.com/adaripp89
There are photo albums for 2016 Worlds & the Stars on Ice tour.

ETA #2 from the Programs/Choreographers thread in GSD:
It looked like he was working out some of the transitions on his own, but yeah, it's hard to tell. If Benji Schwimmer came up with that choreography, then he is very good and it was 100% suited to Adam's strengths!

Adam shared clips from his programs today:

FS: https://www.instagram.com/p/BH0KSoajdHv/

Re-posting part of @sk9tingfan's post in the Programs/Choreographers thread in GSD to here:
Per Rockerskating(Jackie Wong), Adam Rippon's SP and LP music (Let's see if it's accurate)

Adam's SP: Let Me Think About It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yikNhPh9n8 - Buttle
According to wiki, "Let Me Think About It" is a song performed by Danish soul singer Ida Corr and Dutch house disc jockey (DJ) Fedde le Grand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_Me_Think_About_It

FS: "Bloodstream" by Stateless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3b1CDLsiGU
Choreographer (starting on the floor) is Benji Schwimmer.

^^ I like, I like. :D :rockstar:

You go, Adam! Take that to those who have said these types of musical/ choreographic explorations are not Adam's 'style.' No one's so-called 'style' can ever grow inside a box.

Extended version of Let Me Think About It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19WUwZYM7bM

Music video version of Bloodstream https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn3-1kvv6u4

Stateless is an interesting band. I'm listening to more of their tracks on Youtube. Cool! Like Mirai, so many figure skating music selections have introduced me to music I haven't heard before! :summer:

I'm really impressed with Adam's choices, especially the LP (it'll work extremely well on him IMO). Original for skating and offers lots to work with. Well done. :40beers:

(ETA.. The background does sound slightly like the opening of Jason's LP music ;) but I'm not mad at it.)
