Stifel Stars on Ice has announced that U.S. Olympic Team members Emily Chan & Spencer Howe will no longer appear in the 2026 Stifel Stars on Ice tour due to scheduling conflicts.

I had wondered how Spencer was getting so much time off from the army. Maybe that was the issue.

I feel bad for Chan and Howe, but I'm really happy for CPom that they now get to do the entire tour, which means doing the group numbers. Anthony looks so happy in that clip, and Christina has seemed like she's been having a lot of fun rehearsing.

Well, he's not working "full time" for the Army as a member of WCAP. Once through basic training, the time commitment is similar to being in the Reserves or the National Guard - one weekend a month. But it could have definitely been a problem if doing the tour meant he'd miss two months in a row on top of likely missing February as well since the entire US team was in Milano for 3+ weeks.

My work BFF is high ranking in the Army. Those with part time commitments (guard, reserves, or special groups) can miss 6 of the 12 required weekends with permission from their command. If they have conflicts with their unit rotations, they can request assignment to another unit. It’s pretty flexible with the exception of the two week rotation. That has to be done, but it can be done with another unit. But that’s for the general population. I don’t know if being in a specialized role like chaplain is more restrictive.

He isn't a Chaplain yet. He's in motorized transport. He's studying to become a Chaplain.
