Well, both cats went back to sleep during the first 2 groups. Guess they weren't too impressed. But then again, they haven't had their breakfasts yet and there days do NOT start until the kibble hits the bowl. Guess I'd better take care of that during the ice resurface.

It’s a very pleasant arena as well! Nice legroom, easy to get around so far, good food options. I’m a fan.

Lower bowl is almost full I’d say, besides the sections behind the judges.

We started out with 35 women when entries were first published 4 weeks ago, so originally the first group would have been the only one with 5 skaters; then it dropped to 34 and finally settled in at the 33 we have, which means the first three warm up groups only have 5 skaters each while the last three warm up groups have 6 skaters.

Backstage warm-up cam was zooming in on Lorine as she was focusing on spin/revolutions. Saw Jia, Iida and Julia in the frame at different points.

They’ve gone all out with the LED displays although I heard that some of the skaters found this distracting during practice yesterday.

I suppose that some of these skaters weren't at Worlds, Euros or 4CCs either this season or last season. The LED displays have been around since last season. The ISU debuted the LED boards at the GPF last season, IIRC; and the LED entrances were used for both Euros & 4CCs last season as well as Worlds. The large LED backdrop for KnC was curved last year but this year it's flat.

All things considered, that was a good skate for Kristen. If she doesn't qualify for the LP, then at least she will have had a decent skate for her final competitive performance.

Thinking about LED displays and other things to enhance the viewing experience ... for me, the best intro for skaters this year was in Japan at the GPF with the drummers drumming. That was awesome.
