The landing of the Axel was a bit tight with limited flow, but otherwise an excellent skate in his Olympic debut.

Beautiful skate from Max. Had to really grind out a telegraphed triple axel but he delivered. Beautiful program and positions. If there’s any justice in the world he should beat Petr, but there probably isn’t.

Naumov skated beautifully with this music. Incredibly emotional. Not sure how all the tech will play out, but I love that he seemed to be really doing one element at a time.
I thought his footwork was really crisp and well-choreographed.
