Sooooo happy! Congratulations to the US for fighting so hard to get that gold. So happy for Japan for not giving an inch to the U.S. in the singles events. Did any of their skaters put a foot wrong? And thrilled for home country Italy who worked so hard to develop their program to achieve this at their home Olympics. Plus, my good friend who lives in Rome and is a figure skating fan and adult skater will be so happy her home team medaled.

I think my adrenaline was crazier than the skaters during this event.

I think if you read some of the articles about Alyssa, how she felt as a young teenager skating, what her last olympic experience was like, and how she came into this event, you would probably not think that.

I think she'll look back and think how glad she is to have come back on her own terms and rediscovered the joy of skating.

As crazy as it is to think the Japanese ice dance team is also an Olympic gold medalist when they didn’t even qualify for the individual event, they didn’t place last in the RD, and that’s something.

Lol it reminds me of my year school photo where I also had black and blonde (which I only did because they said natural hair colours only). They stuck me right in the middle because they knew they would have no chance of finding anyone to match me on the other side
