Not even -1 GOE for the 3A and she was barely pushing +2 in the SP for the beauty. What a difference a day makes

I thought the spins at the end were sus. This will be killer once she gets the timing of the last 30 seconds. Yes, both programs are warhorse predictions for a skater’s final competitive season, but I expect her to slay in another month or two. I just hope she saves her sine qua non skate for the Os just like Alyssa saved hers for last years’s worlds.

Well I enjoyed Rion’s skate, she is much more expressive this year and I still like that program. Isabeau room for improvement, didn’t grab me like the short but still good. Kaori.. fabulous! Such class and maturity! Well deserved her score! Ami is such a pretty skater and I see her as the next gen in Japan, but not quite up to the level of Kaori yet!

So much speed from no prep at all, jumps get distance even if not the biggest. Foundations brilliant. But she's definitely a different skater today. The SP was all fun and big smiles. Here she's all business getting through this.

A bit junior-ish on the presentation IMO but she's done way more than she needed to win.

The other thing I don't love about Nakai is that screaming she is skating to

Aside from the technical goods, Nakai is giving such sensitivity in her expression. It's big singing, but with nuanced emotion. I really hate this singing in the music, but I love Nakai's program.

It’s too twee of a program for me, but she just sparkles both figuratively and literally as the top of her dress is blinding under lights in person with so many crystals.
