Of course he doesn't bear responsibility for everything going on right now ONLY his music choices which are 100% in his control. And I must say that is a tone-deaf choice is ever there was one

He's looking to represent Canada at the Olympics. He can be proud of both countries the rest of the time, it doesn't have to go in his music. If he doesn't understand the way most Canadians feel about what's been happening, then he's not very in touch with the country he's representing. That's a problem for me, personally. YMMVI confess that music selection did hit me negatively initially but I'm not going to write off Keegan or the enjoyment I get from his skating just for that. Since Keegan has dual citizenship I think he has a right to be proud of both countries and does not bear responsibility for everything going on right now.
Well, even if this comeback thing doesn’t work out the way he hopes, he certainly could skate this in Stars on Ice—would work just fine in that settingKeegan's LP is a bore and with a touch of cringe, which I guess is his aesthetic nowadays.
Anyways, I'm relieved Gogolev and Romsky have started the season strong.
I believe he did skate it at Stars - either this year or last year.Well, even if this comeback thing doesn’t work out the way he hopes, he certainly could skate this in Stars on Ice—would work just fine in that setting
Gogolev spent the last several years struggling just to stay on competitive ice, nowhere near the international podiums he had seemed destined. When his season was cut short for a second consecutive year in December, he wasn't sure he would return.
"I definitely had those thoughts," said Gogolev, now 20. "It was really frustrating ... I wasn't really sure whether these issues were going to keep continuing.
"It was more of a thing that, I was going to give it one last try … it was definitely harder to make that decision to keep skating."
It's a decision he doesn't regret.
Gogolev is finally pain-free, and it's showing. He topped the Nebelhorn Trophy podium on the Challenger Series in Oberstdorf, Germany, on Sept. 26 to capture his first senior gold medal.
100%. It's never too late to go back to November Rain.Keegan's music choice is seriously questionable. Under normal circumstances, it would be a weird choice but with everything going on between Canada and the USA, it's extremely tone deaf. It almost makes me want to suggest he should skate for the USA. And his technical content isn't encouraging. It seems like this comeback wasn't really thought through. I hope Roman, Steven or Wesley take the spot
Sure Tony, but we have good reason to be annoyed about his music choice. Skating for Canada to a repeated refrain of R.O.C.K in the USA is at best tone deaf, given the tariffs and 51st state rhetoric. If he's skating for Canada he at least has to appear to be supportive of Canada, no matter how American he is.Keegan skated in one small event as his first time back on competitive ice early in the season. I know there are a lot of people here who were already less than thrilled with his comeback and now they are pissed about his music choice, but I really don't think the stuff he showed technically is an indication of how this comeback will go. Don't know why quite a few people seem to think it is.

Calm down Tony. Of course I read it all, and I agree with you re the technical level. I was just responding to your comment re people being pissed off with his music choice.Did you read what I said?
I don't think you did, unless you're now here arguing that somehow the music choice has some kind of effect on his technical level of skating. Once again:
I'm clarifying what I said, as you quoted me. Why are you telling me I need to calm down?Calm down Tony. Of course I read it all, and I agree with you re the technical level. I was just responding to your comment re people being pissed off with his music choice.
Just to be clear. There is also the group that was looking forward to his comeback UNTIL they heard his music choices.
Please put me in the Venn diagram intersection for "against his comeback" & "don't care what he skates to."Just to be clear. There is also the group that was looking forward to his comeback UNTIL they heard his music choices.

Wow, this might be the most contentious this thread has been in a while.Does this mean things are looking up for the super inconsistent Canadian men?
Leave it to the Orange Thing to take our attention of the state of Men's Skating in CanadaIt at least means we are noticing they exist now so that's something right![]()
