2025-26 USFS International Assignments

Makes sense. I'm sure the USFS wants to see how they do at their 1st JGP before confirming them for a 2nd. I expect the same for the Gdansk pairs assignments - Williams/Lewer ne confirmed but the 2nd team will be TBD.
How those assigned to JGPs do, plus Robin Cousins and Skate Detroit. Choices!

Isn't John Nicks super close to JGP Bangkok? Very tight turnaround for Moss/Galbavy who's competing in John Nicks.
10 days - John Nicks is on Tue-Wed and Bangkok is two weekends later. There's even less turnaround time between JGP Ankara and John Nicks - just 3 days. It wouldn't necessarily surprise me if they withdraw from John Nicks, to be honest.

Their schedule is going to be too tight!

Aug 29 - JGP Ankara Pairs free
Aug 30 - Leave Ankara
Aug 31 - Arrive in US (they could fly straight to NYC)
Sept 1 - Arrive in NYC
Sept 2-3 John Nicks competition
Sept 4- leave NYC
Sept 7 - Leave US for Bangkok
Sept 8 - Arrive in Bangkok
Sept 9 - practice ice
Sept 10 - Pairs Short
Sept 11 - Pairs long

USFS has updated their Int'l Assignments page -

Robin Cousins Cup - all entries previously reported confirmed

John Nicks IPC Senior entries - Kam/O'Shea are WD - the rest of the teams listed on the ISU page are all confirmed
John Nicks IPC Junior entries - five teams listed - the three on the ISU entries page (CarMar, Meek/Meek & MossGal), plus two others (Kovar/McPike & McDanFelb)

Bolero Cup - Senior - Cui/Rogers, Pham/Spiridonov; Adv Novice - Li/Zhu and Lukanin/O'Brien

Kinoshita Cup - all entries previously reported confirmed

Lombardia Trophy -
Men - Malinin, Naumov
Women - Everhardt, Liu
Dance - Pate/Bye, Wolfkostin/Tsarevski

The ISP has also been updated:
Men - Arsen Meghavoryan - junior added
Pairs - Gabby Kaplan/Carter Griffin - junior added
Dance - Jane Calhoun/Mark Zheltyshev; Sophia Feige/Wiles Middlekauff; Grace Fischer/Luke Fischer - junior added

JGP Baku entries are posted on the ISU website. Presumably several of these are placeholders, contingent upon results from 1st assignments, etc.

Men - Nicholas Brooks, Caleb Farrington
Women - Hannah Kim, Sherry Zhang
Ice Dance - Jane Calhoun/Mark Zheltyshev, Anaelle Kouevi/Yann Homawoo

The Nebelhorn entries are confirmed now on the USFS site.

Hannah Kim and the ice dance teams of Calhoun/Zheltyshev and Kouevi/Hamawoo are confirmed for JGP Baku, with the remaining spots (1 women’s, 2 men’s) TBD.

ETA: I just noticed that Jiaying Elyse Johnson has replaced Sherry Zhang today on the ISU website. She would appear be the next in line for an assignment based on NQS scores.

That doesn't surprise me about Jiaying - I figured Sherry was a TBD and not getting a 2nd JGP after the disappointing showing in Riga.

ISP updates!

Pairs - Alena Kerr/Sam Herbert have been added after their solid performance & score at Skate Detroit this past weekend.
Dance - Clara Fugate/Warren Fugate have been added, so all three of the top novice teams from last season who've moved up to juniors are now on the ISP.

The Int'l Assignments page also has been updated for John Nicks IPC pairs. Carpenter/Maravilla withdrawn yesterday; Taich/Apter added today. This isn't reflected on the ISU entries list yet.

JGP Gdansk entries are also up on the ISU website.

Men - Blackwell, Kazanecki
Women - Nemirovsky*, von Felten
Pairs - Kovar/McPike*, Williams/Lewer
Ice Dance - Feige/Middlekauff, Fischer/Fischer

The rest of this men's field is pretty light on medal contenders, so I could see these entries remaining the same. My guess is that Nemirovsky is currently a placeholder assignment, but von Felten is likely confirmed after her bronze this past weekend. Pairs - obviously Williams/Lewer are certain, but Kovar/McPike may be a placeholder until after John Nicks IPC. Ice dance - there were two open spots due to Ilin/Cain taking the season off & FeiMid and the Fischers are the best of the just-up-from-novice teams, so I expect these are not placeholder assignments.

I’m really baffled that Logan Higase-Chen is competing in Italy this week but isn’t listed as a sub for any other events. I understand for the first 2 maybe she wasn’t listed as she hadn’t competed before the entries were due, but going forward it makes no sense, as everyone else is listed for everything.

If really happening then I wish would’ve gotten one of the two spots for skate America as well or instead
FFS - we haven't seen her skate in over a year and a half. We have no idea how she really looks or how competitive she will be. Give her a chance at a Challenger or maybe an NQS event before declaring she should have been given one of the SkAm host spots.

The pairs and dance teams as well as von Felton are confirmed for JGP Gdansk on the USFS website. The other Gdansk entries are TBD.

I assume at this stage they’ll wait until at least after the Varese results to confirm any more of the open Baku and Gdansk spots.

I just noticed that there are a few TBDs for the JGP in Baku and Gdansk on the USFS International Assignments page. Are these just added? (I guess this means that the names listed on the ISU website are placeholders).

Yes, this has been discussed already in this thread. If the name listed on the ISU entries page is not listed on the USFS Int'l Assignments page then it is a placeholder.

It'll be interesting to see who winds up being assigned for both Baku & Gdansk; as well as who are placeholders for Abu Dhabi once those assignments are published early next week.
