2025 Cranberry Cup International (August 7-10, 2025), Norwood, MA, USA

Hilmer
Is her dress supposed to be representing veins? Not sure I get it (and definitely don't like it, unlike others here!)

3F(q?)+2T a little hoppy
3F(q?) she really stalks the flips
3T nice
great choreo sequence
3F(<?) again, I clearly misidentified one of the early jumps
3Lo(<?)+2T
2Lo
3S+2A+reverse 2S (I assume that's what it was, I missed it) a bit labored
great footwork sequence
Closing with reverse direction spin, truly excellent

I loved her short program, but this isn't quite doing it for me yet.

Does USFSA have any control over the ads that are shown on their live feed? There is no way to report them.
I think content providers can pay YT to reduce the # of ads on live streams, but that may not be a priority for them. I'd say we just need to be grateful they finally got us a feed (and a free one at that) for Cranberry Cup.

Despite what the judges put on their score sheets, Sonia has some of the best true skating skills in this comp. It shouldn't only reflect the jumps. The ability to do reverse jumps and spins in both directions so beautifully?
:respec:

Hilmer,

3f-2t, 3f, 3t, 3f, interesting costume, creamish-background color with green, orange and brown squiggly lines, 3r-2t from almost a standstill, landing the jumps. I think this is the most successful jumps program I have ever seen from Hilmer. Could really use more speed, neat rising on toe during sit spin, good emoting

There is very limited control streamers have for ads (they can sometimes opt out of like categories or broad things like that). although I don't know exactly how it works for youtube, I have heard that it's pretty similar to twitch.

Not the same level as her short (which is phenomenal choreography). The dress is beautiful, but the music isn’t doing much for me, and she isn’t getting much ride out from the jumps making everything seem a bit choppy. Still love her!

Oh, this is quite the ugly dress on Jia. Looks like a design idea that Xiangyi An's team discarded and somehow wound up being presented to Shin's team. They should have also passed.

It looks like it started out as a dress for Les Mis and had 'roman slave' accents added at the last moment.

Shin has nice jumps when she lands them, but like most of the Korean ladies she just skates through this beautiful "Spartacus" music like it's playing for some other person on the ice.

Shin
Spartacus

2A
3Lo and she's down
3S her jumps seem a bit flat-footed to me
3F+2T+2Lo
nice donut spin
3Lz!+3T likely ur and fall; combo looks hopeless to me
3F+2A
3Lz and her third fall

While her basic skating is at a higher level, I'd have this behind Hilmer and Lee unless there's a substantial difference in number of urs.

That 2nd Korean women's spot is WIDE open and this is why I have no problem with the age increase for seniors. Wait until the teens have mostly gone through puberty & then see whether or not they're still jumping prodigies that can out-tech all the grown-ups in the rink.

Shin

easy opening 2a, 3r fall, 3s, 3f-2t-2r, I love they way she carries herself, oh the dreaded 3z-3t (fall)--she does not have this combo anymore :(, falls on 2nd lutz. Seems like last season's struggles continue. Hopefully, she can rise again like she did late last season. Think the program has potential, but will be much more effective clean

Hate this dress for Jia, doesn’t flow well, too many ideas (why are there dangly strings off the waist), sparkly cuffs and arm bands breaking up the lines, just NO.

Sorry to see she’s still struggling with the lutz, hopefully she can figure it out.
