2025 Cranberry Cup International (August 7-10, 2025), Norwood, MA, USA

Levito

skating in a dress this time, 3f-3t improved speed into the combo, still hammering the picking, 2a, 3r, easy to see that she has a tons more transitions than Samodelkina, kinda long rest-reset break in middle, but then back at it, 3f-2a, 3r-2t-2r, like @Private Citizen predicted, only one lutz. I don't love the music and would love to see her go more in the Snake direction again, but the program works for her and that's good enough for Olympic season

Wow. Judges gave Samodelkina the FS win! But Isabeau's SP lead kept her in the lead overall.

Great skate by Isabeau! I like this program for her. All jumps looked good except the lutz, probably q or <.

It's the dress she wore 2 seasons ago. She obviously doesn't have either new costume yet.

Hmmm, behind Sofia in the FS but wins overall. I think that's fair.

Wow Sofia blew me out of the water - great program that really highlights her strengths and she clearly is very into it!

Isabeau - tight and tentative but got the job done. Solid early season skate but super generic program - a lot of her lyrical programs all run together (The Mission, Liebesträume, this).

Jia Shin - talented but needs to refresh her skating.

Hilmer - love her willingness to push boundaries although I have no idea what that program was.

Lee - kinda all over the place, could be a solid program once she gets more comfortable with it.

Isabeau looks right on track for this time of the year in terms of the technical side. I’m not really worried about that for her.

The program is fine for me. Very lovely, nice music. But it is not more than generically lovely right now. The only standout moment for me was that beautiful exit on the 2A.

I also think this isn’t the best edit of this music. They’ve kept it all very one note and there are pieces from this score that have much more depth and up and down to them.

But anyway, likely none of this matters if she lands her jumps. And she’s looking good for August.

I think it doesn't matter for making the U.S. Olympic team. But as far as having an Olympic medal-winning moment, she might want to recut the music a bit. It doesn't lend itself to creating an exciting moment like Liu did at Worlds last year.

Isabeau's program is very generic right now, and hopefully she can punch it up. But as for Olympic moments -- an Italian-American skating to Morricone in Italy? That moment is guaranteed. Her team may teach bad technique, but they know how to strategize.

I don't know that the moment is guaranteed, rather the moment is primed. However the music edit doesn't rise and crescendo at the end but rather peters out right now and, while it's all perfectly pleasant, her team is going up against the likes of Benoit Richaud and Massimo Scali.

I loved the idea of a Cinema Paradiso program for Isabeau but right now the choreography isn’t responding to the music in an interesting way. I think getting rid of the lyrics would help a lot. Aside from her Breakfast at Tiffany’s program, she tends to just do the same movements regardless of the music.

I do think Team Levito has chosen exceptionally safe programs and packaging for the Olympic season.

She got the rotation on the combo (I disagree), but they called her sequence 3Fq+2A<. Hmmm, didn't suspect that one. Maybe it evened out in the end. Also got the lutz - no ur or edge call. With the caveat that the camera angle was bad, I thought the lutz entry looked better but still !. But if Sakamoto gets away with vibe calling, them I suppose Levito should, too.

The judges gave Sofia a ! on the flip rather than the lutz. I would've gone with ! on the lutz, but the takeoff edges looked very similar to me.

For the three of us who saw three triple flips in Sonja Hilmer's program, we weren't totally crazy. The second one was called 3Lze<<. I figured one was supposed to be a lutz and guessed the second one by process of elimination, but they really looked alike!

i swear jacob sanchez wore something just like this before

LOL - the diagonal airbrushing on the shirt is pretty similar to Jacob's FS costume last season, though his shirt was off-white and the green was more of a forest green along with black airbrushing, but yeah, I can see the similarity.

At least Sedlis seems happy with what he did out there. No, it wasn't great, but at least he had a good time. I'd much rather see that than a skater who goes out thinking "I'm going to score 200 points in the free" and then ends up despondent in the KnC.
