Extremely high marks for three falls. Judges seem enamored with her basic skating despite the falls and zzzzz program. Guessing she got most or all of her rotations, while Hilmer and Lee were hammered on theirs.

Not too bothered by this - we haven't heard this soundtrack much in recent seasons.

And she's improved quite a bit even since Worlds. Moving to Raf last fall is beginning to pay off and I really hope she gets a 2nd GP assignment.

This program is extremely effective in its use of the music. But it’s very simple and a ton of two foot skating. But she’s landing everything and using the music well and this will kill on the gp and further if she does this repeatedly.

2a, getting Sokolova vibes from her, 3f easy, huge, 3z with rippon arms, the jumps just look so easy and not because she's a tiny waif whipping them around--this is good technique! 3z-1r-3s, moments of delicate interpretation but feels somewhat emptier than her SP, this should rocket into the lead

Not that much of a program, but a fantastic skate and huge base value with two 3-3 in the second half. Isabeau will have to bring it.

Samodelkina is just stunning, this program really works for her. The jumps are so big, and the way the dress flares out helps to highlight that.

I do agree that parts of it feel empty, but also there's plenty time this season for that to improve since it's so early. So we shall see.

Samodelkina needs to remember it's a long season. Nothing held back here. Impressive jumps, although I didn't really miss all the Russian ladies doing every. damn. jump. with their hands over their heads.

Unrelated to this thread but I guess one of the 'you know you're getting old when...' moments is 'when an original musical you saw in your 20s is now a revival'.

Not usually a fan of Sunset Boulevard for teenagers but Samodelkina was really into that. She’s looking great for this season.

Great score for Sofia! That rockets her ahead of Yuna Aoki as the 1st alternate for any GP vacancies! Mind, she'd have been 1st in line for any vacancies unless it was a Japanese woman who WD since JPN is maxed out at every GP, but still, that's going to be a tough score for any other woman to top at the Sept & Oct Challengers.

Very much in the formula of her previous programs and a good first outing. I'd give it to her on the second mark and the spins as long as she made the rotations.

Levito might edge this out, but it won't be because the jumps were better. Definitely more in between skating and finer spins than Sofia.

This soundtrack is lovely. This screechy soprano version isn't though.

makes me wonder if her injury issues were a problem earlier in the season too because yeah she looks 1000x stronger
