If you’re not watching this gala, you need to find Ilia’s performance later. Good God, if he even put 10% of that quality into his free skates….

He’s absolutely brilliant outside the constraints of the free skate rules.

I was blown away and felt like he had real connection to the music for the first time. Who did the choreography, and can they always do his choreography?

i hope this is an indication of where his skating is going. not necessarily the music style but leaning towards more evocative, sustained edges and moves in the field to express the music; more attention to smaller details, etc. all respect for his obvious athleticism, but that was the very first program of his that i enjoyed watching from beginning to end.

Loved Ilia’s exhibition, he’s really developed this Season. His number for Legacy on Ice was also wonderful.

It has been a long time since I last cried, but this time I and other spectators cried while watching Ilia's exhibition performance. It was a heartfelt and expressive program and truly beautiful.

In the past, I sometimes got sleepy during the exhibitions because I kept listening to slow ballad music, but this time there was a good combination of programs skating beautifully to slow music and those entertaining us with upbeat music. I would say this is one of the best exhibitions I've ever attended.

Oh wow. I am glad I saw posters' responses and clicked on this.

Beautiful phrasing, heartfelt and tender right to the core. Started crying really early on, I bet many of us did on that unexpected move.

Truly brilliant and maybe the most heartfelt skating I've ever seen.

My guess is Tommy Steenberg. He choreographed Ilia's Hope number and he was in DC a few weeks ago at Legacy on Ice.

It's either Tommy Steenberg or Ilia himself. Tommy Steenberg did all of Ilia's galas in 2023-2024, including HOPE, but Ilia has been quietly choreographing his own galas this year, including "Lovely" from SOI/GPF 2024 and "Cage of Bones" from Skate America 2024. The little-seen "No Time to Die" from US Nats 2025 also looks a lot like Ilia's choreo and style, and it has the same style as "To Build A Home." He seems to really like these drawn-out moves in the field, layback spins, etc. these days.

I had to watch Ilia and Adam’s performances (my two favorite) again before they disappear from Peacock. The cameras didn’t show that Evan gave Ilia a big long hug after he came off the ice. 😢

I wish both Ilia and Adam could find vehicles for their free skates next year that allowed them to show the beauty and creativity in their skating. I adored Adam’s free skate last year and thought it showcased his ability, but this year was so blah and empty.

At WTT, Ilia told us that he choreographed "To Build A Home" himself.

Thank you for getting confirmation! All his galas this year have been lovely and/or interesting. It's been great to see him develop his own style of movement and expression.
