That was a bit tight for the Mullens. Probably will keep them in 6th at best here, I think. :(

Ted says the tech panel gave them both a L3 on the twizzles - Brendan's 2nd one was visibly wobbly in real time.

Mullen/Mullen

Level 2 on circular steps, he looked a bit wild on twizzle and only level 3 for him, holding back a bit at beginning, but they brought more intensity as the music became more dramatic

They’ve waited a long time to make their Jr Worlds debut; glad they skated well

PidKov - really unique rotational lift! LOL - dying slide on the ice. Oh, ice dance, never change. Well, that should be enough to keep them ahead of all the teams bunched up behind them.

Pidgaina/Koval

Level 2s on one foot steps, carrying a lot of speed, this program looks more comfortable and in their wheelhouse, great timing of twizzles in diagonal steps to music, the fakeout fall (no words), should easily hold first (assuming no levels drop) clean skate!

Everyone looking just a little tight today and callers not being generous on the steps.

Pidgaina/Koval early favourites for 2026 junior world champs?

FraForn - oooooof - bad first twizzle from him; hers are currently L4 but they didn't look much better, TBH.

Criminy! Another random YT commercial in the middle of the program! Their TES is REALLY low. They're definitely dropping below PidKov, could easily wind up below both the Mullens and AboVes.

Fradji/Fourneaux - When they’re at their best they’re incredibly sharp but they never quite manage to hit at the big events. Still the least voidy team to come out of VDL.

Level 2s for both on circular steps, Little wobble from him on first twizzle, good skate, a little reserved

Do these callers know they can call above a 2 on step sequences and one foot steps? These elite teams really aren’t getting a sufficient advantage over the worst teams here when their steps are so much better :soapbox:

Yes. But who knows who might come out much improved like Tali/Lafornara or out of nowhere like Aboian/Veselukhin this season.
I think the Belgians are a team to keep an eye on; also maybe the Turks, Austrians and Slovaks. Plus, of course, the Baby French & Ilin/Cain who will probably make their Jr Worlds debuts next year finally.

I really hope GrimmSkiy wind up in Helsinki with Team Margaglio after they've had time to settle their coaching situation. I have far more confidence in Maurizio to help them transition to senior more smoothly than Zanni's done with the Mrazeks.
